That's not true. I am using them for 1yr already and I have same results as mobile phone (using both). I have my own setup with custom software for an existing emulator, my proxies, my manually created accounts and works good

If you use a simple redirect for the domains to the aff link (or whatever you promote), just use a cloacking service becusse IG crawlers can read the simple redirects. If you're more advanced with programming, you know how to avoid that but if you're not, use Domains + Cloacking + Redirect

If you're going to be doing the Mother / Child method you definitely should be using proxies since the main point of the method is to not compromise all the accounts and the main account at the same time. Also, unless you really want to manually grow each of these accounts I would suggest you use a bot. Especially if your goal is to scale up to 100 accounts.
