I tested out a service that was offering this growth strategy and I gained over 150 new followers in a single day. The service I was testing was much more expensive than many other alternative growth methods, but the quality of the followers I was gaining was very good. I can vouch that this method is still generating great results. I think the biggest issue is just finding a reliable service provider or leaning how to do it properly yourself, which can be quite complex.

It still works,much slower than before and a little expensive too.But it is more effective when you hire cheap VA's to manage the slave accounts instead of Automation softwares,the accounts will have a very less chance of getting banned and everything is manual so you don't need to worry anyways.
About the cost,I guess it's pretty same if you hire VA's or use softwares so VA's is always a good option.

And won't IG realize that some X accounts are shouting out a main account at some point and shadowban your main?

I know it's definitely possible to still see good results with this strategy now. My one concern is if the people who are contacted by the child account report the mother account as spam or anything like that. Does anyone know if this could cause any consequences to the mother account in this way?

*Knocks on wood* I've never had that happen, I've had some child accounts banned, but I blame it on spamming waaaay too hard lol
P.S. I think the average user is lazy these days.. it takes 3 steps to "report" someone.. easier to ignore lol

Definitely still works well, obviously not as good as last year though. Some adapted, some kept using jarvee and struggled, some made the best out of jarvee. We created a custom tool and it works really well for us. To answer your question, yes it’s possible to grow 100k+ followers with M/C over a few months to a year with good engagement as long as main account content is good and it is indeed a more expensive growth method.

Mother/child is always on the top. I am using it since 2017 and some of my accounts are even getting 120+ followers with just 20 child accounts and mostly get 60+ followers per day with 20 accounts.
Its all depend upon the strategies. Mostly people dont know how to run child accounts and they just spam. So instagram blocks them everytime

Still works very well for the pros, BUT years ago it was way easier, you really have to know how to do it right.
In this method, there is a mother (main account which you want to grow) and child (dummy accounts which will redirect traffic to mother)
We grow child accounts by doing follow/unfollow and other things by using bot and once someone follow child account bot send him a msg and ask to follow mother. Also we mention mother account in child account bios.
In this way we can grow mother account safely and mother account always remain secure.
