Most profitable freelancing skills?

Ah, coding in what? javascript, php, c++...?
The problem with coding is that it constantly changes, you have to spend almost as much time learning as actually working so I'm not sure if becoming a code drone would be a good thing for the quality of life.
So, what besides coding?

What exactly changes constantly?
Well, when I knew about programming from college and looking at it now I see stuff like Python, C#, etc. but have no idea which is viable for even the short run to learn. Anyway I asked other questions.

If you have a solid basic knowledge in programming, the change of languages won't hurt you much. The basic remains the same. However, it sounds like you are not interested in programming. I would say the other profitable skill would be graphics.

$60 per hour, even MS programmers don't make that much. Their salaries are ~80k per year.
People are hiring from freelance websites to SAVE money, they are not going to pay someone $60 per hour. The employers prefer to pay when the project is completed and not on hourly basis.
Wordpress, experiment with it and soon you will improve your HTMl, CSS, javascript and PHP skills.
It is easy to start and you will make some cash relatively quickly.

Development of any kind, would advise to get few books, and build portfolio while doing whatever you do. It takes time but if you are not creative, or possess any writing skills, coding is great way to get some $$$$.
If not your cup of tea, setup agency scheme and offer something unique to clients. Be sure to get a few people who will work for you.

I guess web development that entails html, css, javascript, php, mysql is more reliable since standards are more secure and it is across the board.
But there are many programming languages, it's hard to know with which one to even start.
Btw, isn't wordpress a blog site, what has that have to do with anything?

Wordpress is a CMS, one of the most popular. And yes, there a lot of jobs for wordpress. And no, it is not just for blogging.
What do you think majority of the BHW members use ? - Wordpress
I have a friend working only with Wordpress- fixing bugs, developing websites.
His freelance income is like $10k-$15k per year, working a few hours per day(it is his additional income).

Article writing is. You'll never run out of article writing work, even if the competition is too fierce, I can assure you that. People will always be in need of quality content, and the need will only increase in the future. Other than that, web design and graphic design skills are in demand too, and with the advent of apps, there is a greater demand for coders.
I say #2 is actually Advertising, #4 is Programming since it kinda dropped off when seo became more Google money oriented. Why Advertising at #2? A LOT of people flock to ppc/ppv networks in hopes to make money. The downside is most of them are inexperienced and lose that cash. So in all truth the only profitable internet skills is a select few but consulting is KING. If you are a good advertising or marketing consultant then you are in demand making the most bank.

Design isn't necessarily profitable. It can make you good money but it requires a lot of time also. In terms of money:time ratios, I think programming or consulting is best. I know people who have mastered these coding languages and can make three figures in the space of a few minutes..
Design is annoying because you get asshole clients a lot that require a lot of revisions so it isn't necessarily worth the hassle if you're looking to just get money.
I personally enjoy graphic design hence I enjoy it regardless of the assholes LOL, but if it's for money purely, consulting is the way forward.
