Just got this emailed to me and thought it may be of interest to some of you guys

Strange:
Patients diagnosed with mesothelioma may wish to pursue a mesothelioma settlement in order to help cover medical bills and other expenses.
 
I wonder how many BHW members are gonna start MFAs targeting "mesothelioma settlement" after reading this. $100 clicks here we come baby!!!! :)

A few that want their adsense account banned, for sure. I mean, on keywords like that, rest assured goog watches it like a hawk.
 
I had a blog like 2 years ago targeting mesothelioma settlement,anyway,the highest CPC I had was 4.50

2900 * .40 * .04 = 46.4

Assuming you are ranked in the first spot and you are getting 40% of the traffic with a .04% CTR. you would get 46.4 clicks a month. Unfortunately that estimate of $95.27 is only an estimate and you would probaly only get 5$ tops. Hey that's $232 a month, good luck with that. Not that anybody is going to read this post.

There are some other keywords on that list that have a lot of traffic and would be worth it to get.

dammm $140 per click??? 1 click per day is already $4260 per month, that is insane!!!
 
Those high bids are for direct search traffic. Most advertises will not pay such high dollars for a click from content network.
Google makes lot of money. But for an adsense publisher the per click is way less.
 
This is how the system works :| They charge thousands of dollars and pay only (remaining/few) hundred dollars to the publisher.

you guys realize thats how much they pay google to have people click on their ad. Not how much you get paid for them to click on it.
 
I forget exactly what was said about the reasoning for such a high CPC on "Mesothelioma Settlement" - but it was something about how lawyers are able to collect enough clients to start a class action lawsuit, potentially ranking in millions of dollars from the actual settlement. I don't recall where I read that from, but if I find the link I will post it. Here's an idea, lead gen for firms looking for those clientele....

EDIT: After actually looking through the list, I love the anchor links they put on it.. wonder what they charged those sites :)

Ranking for those supposedly high paying keywords must be such a pain. I did phrase/"in quotes" search check of high CPC kws in another thread, and found the best one had results of 222,000.

I don't think people understand the difference between search cpc and actual cpc...
 
This is the price that the advertiser may pay, for you as a publisher it will be different if Google decides to display their best ad on your site (contextual targeting) you will get around 50-60 % of the value (see screenshot).

Yup true, The best way to figure out how much the cpc worth for a keyword is by searching it in the google adwords account > contextual targeting. Combine it with the advertiser's competition for the keyword low - high or medium in the adwords keyword tool, discount 30-50% of the cost of the cpc and you will get a realistic estimation about how much you will get per click.
