Yes, in my country most of the business is done over drinks, I mean SMEs.

We have a set standard for receiving VIPs, Drinking + KTV + Massage.

It may sound stupid and ridiculous, but it is, and there is logic behind it. All that is done is to enhance the relationship.

Alcohol makes people emotional, Under the influence of alcohol, people go from being co-operative to being ‘friends’, then ‘good friends’, then ‘family’.

Yes, you heard me right, most of the drinking parties I've been in, before the party starts, we call each other with respect, and after the party is over, we call each other brothers.

Then there's KTV, not normal KTV of course, At the dinner table we only drank white wine with an alcohol concentration of 42-53, basically everyone would drink 500ml, then at KTV it was time for beer.

The KTV has a lot of service staff, mostly young and pretty girls and boys. Don't worry, there's no sex trade, they'll always fill your empty glass, wait for you outside the loo and thoughtfully hand you a tissue when you go to the toilet, or massage your head when you're drowsy. Most of them have great singing voices. Or applaud you enthusiastically after you finish a song. That's about it.

Finish the day with a massage, no more alcohol just warm tea.

Because more people are shy and unable to show their true nature, with the addition of alcohol, people start to talk more, in which we can analyse each other's character and abilities more sensibly. As for KTV and massage, this is because most people in our country are shy by nature and it is just to help them open up their nature. It's the equivalent of ‘you can only get closer if you've done bad things together.’

So my friends, How do you generally do business hospitality in your country?;)

Formal dinner or lunch is more likely, but there can be quite a bit of alcohol involved in that as well.

I personally prefer to not do any business in person. Online is better. I don't have the patience for the fake pleasantries in person.

I have been only into mostly online businesses so most of the times there is no need to meet in person. But most business circles in India are closed groups and they won't accomodate a new player out of their friends and family circle(s).

And given India's diversity in terms of types of businesses which are done, business deals can be done over phone, over lunch or in a meeting at one of the party's farmhouse. Anything is possible.

That's pretty interesting culture.

Still don't understand what you meant by KTV.... Not the normal KTV tho... Wtf do you mean? Is there another type of KTV? Is it nude TV?

The KTV is composed of private rooms, each with a row of large sofas and a huge TV on the wall.

When you enter the private room, staff will lead a dozen girls in sexy dresses and ask them to stand in a row.

Everyone starts to choose the girl they like. If you are not satisfied with the dozen girls in the private room, you can ask them to change a group of girls.

Choose the girl you like and start enjoying the good times.

The girls will accompany you to drink and sing, and the KTV has a song ordering system.

Most girls can be touched casually. Of course, if you make the girl think you are a rich boss, you can also spend some money to take the girl to a hotel after the event.
