Most Backlinks Will Kill Your Website

"SEO is dead! The Sky id falling, the sky is falling!" Yes, keep crying under your blanket. Stop doing SEO and send me all your clients if this is how you feel. I refuse to be Chicken Little and adapt with the times. The only thing that has ever remained a constant in SEO is change and competition. Adapt or die, but for the love of .... stop the hysterical attitudes. Pull the plug and flat-line already.

I think we should really start using current before labeling a white/gray/black hat technique. I think that the word 'current' should really give something to think to the MattC and G-BE listeners and preachers.

Whatever you think that G loves - and therefor preaches - today, it will be soon considered spammy once they need to come up with another facelift to take over a new market and monopoloze it (you fraken seos almost de-monopolozed the advertising market for google).

Bottom line is that, everything can be reverse engineered, it is just a matter of..time.

I also disagree. While I agree that google is penalizing on spamy links but it is paying more importance to contextual and authority links like web 2.0, edu links. Articles were and still holds vital importance in overall backlink process. Apart from these I also learned from my experience that link diversity and continuous link building is the key and on-page optimization with original content is back to the mainstream.

Google doesn't want to get rid of all of our sites form SERP. But it still reduce spammy and non-informative websites - also with shitty or bad combined links.

Build adsense site for humans (quality information) at first place not for adsense. If you build quality informative site with content people love, money will flow then automaticaly.

The Google Penguin update was a giant conspiracy to boost adwords earning. Worked well for the big G.

2nd update - kill Adsense publishers (less spending)

G makes more money, period.

Although not thought about it. actually, I think of some reason, being in constant financial crisis .. is possible. moreover I think he just wanted penguinu least discourage us

Remember ALN? Ranking 100k+ ELMs with a few thousand blogposts, add in bookmarks, some comments, some social signals and web 2.0s for diversity, boom top #3 - ranking & banking. Life was good. Then the public blog networks died, and sites tanked left & right. Subsequently the 'well-educated' conspiracy guys crawled out of their dark corners with their 5$/day AdSense earnings to declare SEO dead. Even more so after all the P-Updates from Google.

Well, newsflash: The shit still works as well as before //>> set-up your own private network (sure it's expensive, but well worth it, if done right), hit up some guestposts for your niche, get the social signals and onpage factors right, diversify your link & anchor portfolio with open platforms (Web 2.0s, Wikis, Bookmarks, Comments, Pins, Image Sharing, Doc Sharing, w/e.. you know the drill)

tl;dr: Don't be fucking stupid when building links -> cash the coin, repeat.

confusion - confusion - confusion -

Recently I spent so much on building new sites and now preparing for link building - I was in shock by reading this all.

Thanks to - all of you for making me alert about the link building strategy and special thanks to madoctopus, kvmcable for positive thinking and bringing a ray of hope.

In my opinion all we have to do is wait and let the Google finish this play.

Google is a rampaging bull and the constant updates to serp results shows the blood bath is not over yet. I have seen various postings here and at other forums promising to help you recover from panda or penguin updates. Maybe my observations will help you save your hard earned money:

1 - The more backlinks you create, the more rankings you lose. Forget using generic anchor test as the recent Google update can now catch the trend and your website would be penalized.

2 - Public blog networks will now die much quicker because of the huge footprints.

3 - Web 2.0 backlinks are slowly losing ranking power and by the next few months most would be worthless.

4 - Article directories cannot be relied upon as backlink sources. Google mostly would ignore the links, indexed or not.

Now if all the above links would hurt your site, what can you do to rank your site with all the constant updates. Presently, NOTHING! Some steps you can take to survive this slaughter:

1- Create more unique contents using LSI keywords and update your website more often

2- Learn content curation techniques and implement them on your website. Do not just copy and paste, but re-write the snippets in your own words and give credit to the original source.

3- Create videos and distribute them to about 5 to 10 video hosting sites including youtube. Be sure to vary your description on all the video sites.

4 - Bookmarking is good, but buying bookmarking services would give you no added benefits. You need to go back to the original intent of bookmarking and you would get some positive results. But, simply blasting your site to hundreds of bookmarking sites would get you noticed in a bad way.

Some Observations:

Ignore anyone telling you they have the formula to get your rankings back. Truth be told, the Google massacre is ongoing and no one knows the new ranking metrics.

Maybe you should know, indexed backlinks means nothing as Google is now a 24/7 thinking, breathing algorithmic machine. I am sure some of you have noticed how your rankings drop the more backlinks you create.

Eventually, Google would settle down and the new ranking metrics would become clearer. But for now keep your head down, build more contents, create videos and do some normal bookmarking.

Google is determined to de-index millions of websites as a way to clean up the SEO cesspool. Some privileged information cannot be posted here (as Google monitors all top IM forums), but seek out someone on the inside and you would find most of my observations above are deadly accurate.

Also, lookout for massive closing of adsense accounts used on a lot of de-indexed websites. Adsense accounts would become harder to get as the months go by.

Why is Google doing this? That I cannot tell you, but I know adwords spending is growing rapidly and the next quarterly earnings report would surprise many people.
