I have a single page website, I have done speed optimization, on-page seo, indexed, and am currently building backlinks for key terms.

is there anything else I can do for the website to increase performance?
 
Advertise on BHW
Technical SEO: if not already done, broken link audit, canonical tag, site silo.
 
Apart form link building, you need to do a top notch quality content, do some keyword research, with anchor links break down your content and create contents with themed keywords.
 
Implement caching & cdn to impove performance of your website.
Also Optimize images.
 
Consider mobile optimization, enhance user experience, utilize schema markup, monitor analytics for continuous improvements, and engage social media.
 
Can you share tricks you used to get indexed ? How many pages are indexed till now and what is average time from post publication ?
 
Consider schema markup for rich snippets, adds flair to your click. Also, engage with your audience through socials. Google loves a socially active site. And don't sleep on internal linking, buddy.
 
What about off page SEO? This is much important as well.

Kind of. Besides optimizing website (On-Page, Technical, & Speed Optimization) there is only backlinks left. At least that's what I'm hearing from this article.

So basically the SEO game is just a money game, not really any skill to it?
 
Open your Google Search Console and read all the hints :)
 
Half of the replies clearly didn't bother to read that site is one-page, meaning all content is on one page, like a landing page. There is not much to do except proper H tags, meta tags, optimized images and alt descriptions, easy to read text, optimized for speed (minified, caching, etc).

Improve the content also. Some type of niche also demand daily content updation.

How many links you have built? If it is still not on first page, increase quality and quantity of the links.
