People always ask what is the secret to unlocking the Youtube algorithm and I've always answered,
there is no secret formula. It's whatever youtube wants to promote. You could have the best video ever
but if youtube doesn't want to promote it, you'll only get a couple million views while a video that really
isn't that good gets front page every day for weeks and the video will get 100+ million views.

It's completely controlled and determined by what youtube wants to promote and what they don't.

Here's the latest phenomenon I found that has 120 million views and I'm not being biased, the video
isn't really that amazing or interesting at all. You and I could probably list 100 other videos of the same
niche that are way funnier and has better content but here's an example of a case where this video
for SOME REASON has been on the front pages of youtube for about a year. Watch it yourself and
judge if that's a video that is really worth 120 million views and has a secret formula to it. It doesn't.

I've seen a lot of videos in this niche for years and this isn't anywhere close to being in a top 100 or 1000 list
for me.

You'll notice whenever you go to the youtube home page (especially when you are not logged in to an account)
you'll constantly be seeing some channel that keeps getting promoted by youtube in the top 8 videos at the front
page. It's annoying because I may not even watch any of their videos or like that stuff but youtube keeps promoting
it for some reason at the front page and it has nothing to do with me or my interests or my history. I've tried for years
to find a way to block or prevent youtube from showing me certain channels but there is no way. The only way is
if you log into your own account. But when you are not logged into an account, the default youtube front page
will always push whatever they want to push in your face even if the videos/channel isn't even that good (but
has millions of views because anything you put constantly on the front page will get millions of views and subs).

People don't seem to get this and it's true. I said the same thing about TV before internet. You could literally make
anyone famous or anything famous if you wanted if you just kept putting on tv for everyone to see.

How much do videos like this get paid for 1000 views?

This is really true, for example CNN comes first when we all know that they are experts in giving news that suits them

Social networks in general are manipulated by large corporations, for example I have seen networks of these sites and their branches that are allowed to inflate their followers with bots and employees do as if nothing happened..

You must be a conservative because all news channels do that. Not just CNN. Hell OAN is the worse one I watched. They don't even try to hide it...

Since it was a shorts video, 123 million views pays you about 12 cents. Basically nothing as far as monetization. But the views could be useful for other things.

CNN is the absolute worst. They are biased news and basically only push whatever fits in "their" narrative (I won't get into who "they" are but some of you probably have an idea).

I think it is almost impossible for news not to be tainted with some bias or subjectivity. Everything is coming from a perspective or a lens. That means it will be filtered or adulterated in in the smallest ways. That is why I always say truth is the most revolutionary thing the history of mankind could ever know. It exists but we cannot know it because this world functions on the principle of "assertion of wills". This means that whoever can and knows how to assert their will the most/best/effective will control information/perspective/thinking/values/beliefs. The entire world and the system of the world is veiled by it. To unveil it and uncover the Truth would be the most revolutionary thing you could ever find (and it does exist but that's another story).

It's a cat video, no surprise it has millions of views. As long as people are clicking on it and watching it, YouTube will continue promoting it.

okay okay... if you go to his channel and filter by most popular
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-R3YNdUfeQ_LErDhy0atVA/videos?view=0&sort=p&flow=gridall his videos get 1k views on average
and the video you showed is a short (and was posted 11 months ago where youtube shorts was new and videos go viral easy)
also the channel isn't even monetized so....
there is nothing crazy about this example you gave...

but on to your point when you logout you keep seeing those videos... yes.
but most of those videos are coming from shorts and youtube kids which tend to do really good too.
