As because this forum is so freaking clean and highly moderated, I can't even imagine what a shitshow goes on in the backend, where we can't see all the complaints and bullshit that mods have to deal with. If they do it for free, then there is no wonder why only a few can keep doing it, you have to be with a very specific mindset to do a job like this, for free, and do it well.

What happened to know I know Seo why did he leave? While it’s sad to see them leave but the current set of mods in training may well be promoted in due time, till then you should apply

Well, in my opinion - this forum is run like a business, so probably in the bank account of a company that owns the domain name and intellectual property.
What I have noted, mods get value from just being mods, it builds up credibility and that probably can be used later to do some business.
And probably there are few sociopaths as well, who like to be in control of such place and they are not even interested to be compensated as they gain power from being in control of so many users.
a win win for everyone, lol.

Some Mods are in-house (paid), some are volunteers (non-paid).

I think they recruited some permanent staff. I've seen a few recently joined staff members. They might also be planning to recruit new MITs.
There are staff members and volunteer moderators. They are all doing the same job but staff members are fulltime employees, where as the volunteers work part-time.
Staff members have an additional "Staff member" badge.

I don't suppose it's public but it's not like it's some kind of "Cosmic Top Secret" (that's an actual NATO classification nomenclature) either.

Absolutely. It's a business. Like any business, people come and they go. This is no different.
This is one of the biggest online marketing forums online. Being a moderator here gives you credibility in certain circles.
Wikipedia and Reddit come to mind here.

Oke, thanks for the explanation.
It should be public (same as "who banned you %%name%%") - just my opinion. But keep up the good work (except when you ban for 3 days for "Abuse of Staff Members" while reporting inflating posts and clicking that "Report" button too fast (even tho you have CF and XF check for it). I'd rather not go into that on a public topic, but ye, that sucks).
