Hi,

I have started with with local SEO, i have contacted several dentists in a certain city with an offer, that i will push them to the first place for $250 a month (is this reasonable?). Three of them responded positively and now I dont know what to do. I cant push all three of them to the first place at the same time. I dont know if it would be professional to ask now about rising their price they would like to pay for the first place because i have more dentists waiting for the same service? It could also look shady as if I just wanted to artificial rise the price and I could loose all of them.

Well what would you do? Several local customers and you cant have all of them in the first place.

Never promise to rank them to the first spot. Ever. And you could charge more, if you knew what you were doing.

Well, lesson learned :D . But i can rank them within a few days, the dentists at the top positions have like 5 domains pointing at them. So I dont know if i should change this in the future for a more uncertain term like "somewhere in the top positions" or something else....

But the "damage" is done already and it would be great to somehow benefit from this, that I have 3 potential customers...

All you need to do is rank one in the local algo, one in maps, and one with the organic algorithm.

You know how to do that, right?

And yes your price is crazy low for a dentist.

Nevermind, I see you know how to rank a dentist in a few days, my bad.

There are plenty of related keywords, and the dentists can be made happy by getting them on the top part of the 1st SERP!

For example, if you're an Indian, then see this in google.co.in:
dentist in delhi

Use your google version and your city... I think you will find a similar result.

See those local results... plenty of dentists are there and they are all in big bold type, and they are displayed in red in the map on the rightside of the page! Do that... you can have 10 local dentists on the top part of the 1st SERP for a given local keyword...

Now if that "dentist in <city>" is a tough keyword to break in, then there is "orthodontist in <city>", and other keywords like these. I just found one other good local "dentist" keyword/phrase like the above, which has only one such result (won't disclose it ofc :))! See there are 7-9 more spots to get easy with that keyword! :)

Yeah, regarding the price - the average monthly pay in this country is like $1000, so I was unsure about the price. But yeah, i should probably ask for more.

I have thought about this solution - offer top places for related keywords, but that could be tricky... i have to look at the search volumes in the keyword planner again, maybe i will do something with this.

But i can rank them within a few days

Until they get slapped.

Do it properly and then you have a long-term customer.

And as Techxan showed, of course you can take on all three of them as customers.

You could also speak to each dentist and find out a little more about their business - you don't have to rank them all for the same keywords.

Find out what service each of them thinks is their best, or their most lucrative, or the one they would like to get more customers for - and rank each of them for that.

That way you are personalising the service for each of them, according to their own specifications

3 happy customers.

The dentists make good money, lot more than the avg salary in the locality. Never give them a low fee quote. :)

Thanks for the brilliant idea! Now i am thinking about offering them a top spot at terms like "teeth whitening *city*" etc. so i can take all three of them at once. That would be great.

Srb888, yeah i know very well how much they get paid, but look at it the other way. If you would charge for example 1000 USD from a dentist in USA and here everyone gets like 4 times lower pay including the dentists, then I cant ask for the same price as in the USA. But yes, I should charge more (maybe 350 bucks a month).
