Yep.. I tried to sell it with adwords and suprise suprise..

no sales XD

My ad copies are decent - 7/10QS, ranking on top of the page 1-2 pos. getting clicks (that is wasting money on clicks)
same with my store solid 2/10 moonaware.com - ofc. i directed traffic to that damn lamp so didn't focus on storefront that much

didn't see a single conversion with $40 spent on ads and i was focusing on [moon lamp] KW - you can't get any more specific than this
tried to sell smallest 10cm model for $35, was adding free gift if someone purchases more expensive variant

now i just wanna know from you lads, if it's me - my store? or is product so fucking saturated, that everyone knows how much it's worth?

now im trying to sell that baby nail trimmer, so far 12 clicks, no conv - don't know if this one has potential or not - one person reached checkout but i forgot to make shipping free so there is that..

I thought if I get warm leads i would have easier time selling.. don't know if i should stay with adwords or move on to IG/FB

also i was thinking about selling copyrighted products for couple days so i have money to burn without worrying about it

help me, i need to buy an Egg by the end of this month

You are very expensive, eBay and amazon way cheaper. Didn't you check prices first?

I did but still proceeded for couple of reasons
1. my first product, wanted to test the water to see how "gullible" customers are and I thought people who click ads don't do much research on prices
2. i've seen one YT guru twat making a whole vid about it, figured it might be a good product to start with I knew he is hiding a lot of data, for example he showed only couple days of results which would make a good click bait - decided to go with it anyway to see what's going to happen

Now you know those results are fake, like PayPal and clickbank screen shots they use.
I typed it into google and got Amazon and eBay, a lot cheaper.

This begs the question, are there actually people who make 7 figures profit/yr /w DS? it's obvious those gurus are trying to cash out on courses, there has to be a reason why they stopped focusing on ecom

also do you think it's still worth advertising on google if there are already organic links from amazon / plas for the same product?

Moon lamp is super saturated. I have a rule, if a product has more than 100 sales on AE is not worth to try on DS, because probably there's already someone doing it.

Don't forget that people is trying products all the time, if they sell a few of them they escalate the ads and you are fucked. Unless you find some special target for that niche that no one expects like restaurant owners for the moon lamp or something strange don't even try.

Your so expensive that small moon lamp is $10 on aliexpress

Your going for like 250% markup does that sound like a good idea?
Sounds like you charged shipping also?

Any product you see revealed on YT will be mega saturated but deffo moonlamps

Your guarantee is boring (no offence). If you want to sell the same product as others at a higher price, you need to sweeten the deal in some way. An easy way to do that is with a powerful guarantee that others don't offer - risk reversal plus showing confidence in your products can send very positive signals to potential buyers.

If I owned your shop I'd make something like "Our To-The-Moon Guarantee - 365 Days - if you don't love your purchase for any reason send it back for a money back guarantee or a replacement and we'll happily refund or replace your product, no questions asked." And plaster that prominently all over the site.

That alone may not be enough (need to test), and you'll have some people who abuse the refund policy, but the amount of sales you get that you wouldn't have otherwise should greatly outweigh $ lost from abusers - especially if you make them have to send the product back before you refund... that's a pain in the ass most people won't go through for small purchases.

Anyways, that's just the first thought off the top of my head, there's lots of ways to angle your product. You should read Stealth Marketing by Jay Abraham for some solid ideas that could help.

Best of luck to you.

Thank You,

I gave up on this product tho, I figured only way to get sales at that price point would be to private label it, that moon lamp really is too saturated, moon lamp related queries are bombarded with ads with plas being the most present - no way anyone would buy it from me for $35 when right next to my link is google shopping ad for $20 less

If you don't mind I will use exact same phrasing on my new guarantee :) and as of that recommended read - I will definitely check it out, was looking for good marketing book

Haha fair enough - was just outlining an example to think outside the box. After re-reading it I would definitely clean the guarantee wording up a little - it's a bit sloppy & redundant. You can tell it was the first draft, and written on my phone :p

I would use "over-the-moon" instead of "to-the-moon" as that's a phrase that means ecstatic, elated, etc.

And then clean up the second bit, maybe more along the lines of "if you don't love your purchase for any reason, send it back under our iron-clad satisfaction guarantee and we'll happily refund or replace your product, no questions asked." - probably need more reworking but that already reads better I think.

I too envy those dropshipping twats that are banking hard. There are definitely people banking all the time and very hard with dropshipping. The number one thing you need to be successful is a big budget. If all you can spend is a few $100 you won’t get far. You need more money to play with, or access to a credit card so you can fulfill your orders. You also need to research niches better. I recommend against household products like lamps. Anything that can similarly be bought at a Walmart or amazon is not good. Also, anything that has no clearly defined audience is not good. You want a product or niche that is easy to market, it should be obvious where you will need to point this product
