What happened to these types of networks? 2 years ago I remember the forum being filled with these but now I can't seem to find any. The only decent one I found (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...-new-standard-search-engine-optimization.html) is full!

I've been away from IM for a few years so do these types of networks still work or am I wasting my time?

If they are still good I'd welcome any recommendations.

Thanks

I've no interest in building and maintaining a blog network, I have one website that I'm currently marketing and having little or no free time I'm happier paying for a service.

I'm developing really good netwok system for more than year. Something different from you know as simple network. Something like web 2.0 network where users decide how they will build it. Beta is working for 6 months and it's improved all the time. It will be ready for official release soon ;)

Wanna know what happened? Google deindexed most of them in 2012 and since then the number of blog networks open to the public decreased significantly. In the past year, blog networks started becoming popular again and Google answered this unwelcome trend again by deindexing many PBNs this month.

PBNs still work and they will likely continue to work as long as links remain a crucial ranking factor. What matters most is the level of risk involved. While private networks have a longer life span, public networks are more prone to deindexing issues. Nevertheless, as long as you are using a PBN, your site cannot be 100% safe from Google penalties, unless your PBN sites look like real sites and you avoid cheap hosting.

Yeah you can find out more about it at nohatdigital or spencer haws website. I would be very cautious if your buying pbn links right now. Like ezlivin said, you'd be better off building your own or have your own that has been built for you.

The reason is also a lot of sellers seem to be doing one-time payment sites that they can build/sell/burn after a year or so. I had a thread on this topic recently. You buy a "lifetime" link and it's life usually ends when they first year of hosting/domain end. The way that (public) PBN's are sold needs a face-lift. I'm not sure that monthly is the answer, but having to replace links after a year gets old too.

Good luck finding a sustainable network, when you do hold on to it. I've been apart of some for years but they are private and invite only style.

I personally avoid any networks advertised, they are a sitting duck just waiting to be outed and deindexed.
