    Hey everyone,

Upon my daily search of self-improvement, I've stumbled upon a nice article that resonated with me.

In fact, it induced me with a lot of motivation, so I've worked off quite some boring tasks that I would postpone since a few days.

I thought people here might enjoy the read too.

    Here it is:

What do you guys think? Also, if you guys have other suggestion for articles alike, I'd love to read them!

    warm regards,

Holy shit that's a long one, I guess by the time that I'll finish reading it I will be extremely motivated.

Although, by that time the day would probably be over, and I'll need to go to sleep.

But I will sleep motivated! Bless you!

    Best Regards,
    Jaymien.

    This part is good...

The sacrifice: you're going to be minimizing your time contribution to social obligations and junk activities. The reason for this is because these activities consume a lot of your precious time whilst yielding zero to negligible increase towards your social market value.

Monk mode is a serious commitment, you cannot half-way it. You're either in or you're not. It will be a struggle in the beginning, but once you're fully engaged it will become a beneficial yet addictive lifestyle.

The kind of activities I'm talking about when I talk about "junk activities" consist of the following:

Going out for coffee or sitting around idly.

    Playing video games.

    Watching marathons of television series/movies.

    Watching porn.

Refreshing the shit out of Facebook/Twitter/Instagram or whatever social network it is you're hooked on.

Refreshing the shit out of internet forums such as /r/theredpill, ***** or whatever community you're in, basically: procrastinating on the internet.

Sitting around drinking alcohol/doing drugs then being out of action with a migraine the next day from a hangover/come down.

All these activities are distractive; they do not benefit you in the long run but may fleetingly please you in the short-term. Entertainment is necessary to cool off from periods of hard work but leading a life of continuous instant gratification is a path that leads to nowhere but failure.

Such a lifestyle achieves nothing other than casual fleeting bemusement. If all you do is distract yourself and spend your time on junk activities, you'll leave no time for the things that really matter: activities which contribute to personal self-enhancement. One cannot hope to have high social value without investing in themselves, and this is where monk mode comes in.

I get that the MGTOW community has a lot of morons in it, but I still think you should evaluate the article on its own merits.

It doesn't really have much to do with MGTOW other than the self-improvement part... and I don't see a reason why we should dismiss this, because I think a continuous improvement of oneself is a vital part of well-being.

    warm regards,

Pornography is definitely detrimental to one's creative and productive capacities. Cutting it out of your life will do wonders.

Describes porn as a "junk activity."

I stopped reading at that point and had a wank.

It's hard to balance a life like this with school, homework, and a large family but I've been trying.
i think eating a vegan diet has immensly helped me with the self control and discipline aspects.

Agree, can't do one sufficiently without the other
