monitor problem

i have an LG isp224 had it since 2013, no issues, no problems
last 2 weeks been doing this, watch first minute of the video
then from 7.20 - 7.40 when it finally stops

and this started happening from boot ups after being shut down
night b4, but only last 2 weeks, tried wifes monitor on my pc
nothing, not a peep.


monitor still working but i have to go through 4/7mins of blink b4 it
goes to a stable picture

Regards to the monitor, does it blink at all after the 7 minutes?

When you say you used your wifes monitor and it didnt make a peep, did it still keep flashing and taking 4/7 minutes?

Do you have the latest drivers for your monitor?

This guy seems to have the the same problem kind off but lasts a lot longer, a few people in the comments seem to have had success with replacing the two 1000 uF caps in the PSU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2zyFsFult4).

Although if the monitor is working fine on your wifes monitor then, its defiantly the monitor. It might be something simple as just the fuse in your plug socket needs replacing.

Have you tried using your monitor but your wifes leads from her monitor? It might just be a loose wire in the cables. Just a few things that came to mind anyway.

That's a dead monitor. Thankfully monitors are getting cheaper with the rise of 4k.

example i can load up my pc first thing in morning, and i get that blink
i tried wifes on mine 2/3 days ago nothing no issue no problem not a peep nothing
i have updated my nvidia drivers tonight so i will report back tomorrow what happens
when i turn it on in the morning.... side note, after the 4/7min load up blink, when it
stops, i can leave the monitor on all day and nothing happens it runs like it should

I doubt it is a video driver.

Turn monitor on and unplug it, power video connections - all. Leave on and unplugged 24 hours. After time expired, plug back in an boot.

What happens?

Looks like on of two problems - the first, unless you have a wave soldering tub around you can do nothing about, the second you may be able to fix. If the monitor continues the aberrant behavior, you have either a bad chip or a bad capacitor.

The reason for the unplugged time is to reset the encoded software as the possibility is that a chip slipped a bit. Power on/unplugged will let the voltage drop to zero and may reset the system.

If the blinking continues, disassemble the monitor and look for swollen electrolytic capacitors. If you find any replace them.

If you do not repair or replace the monitor you risk 1. destroying your video card/adapter, or 2. destroying your motherboard.

Try different monitor if its gives you the same problem its something with the VGA. If not probably its the monitor and its time to change it.

If you tried your wife's monitor and it didn't blink. Likewise, checking your cable connection and all was properly connected then; most likely your monitor itself is damaged. You need a new monitor.

How did it go this morning? I checked the LG website and there is no updates for the monitor software or anything.

If changing the cables hasn't worked it might just be the monitor getting old.

check the plugs in the back right now and the settings after changing them maybe.
