Hi,

I have a few thousand users with my Browser Plugin installed, according to my stats thats a few hundred online constantly, surfing web.

I was wondering if anyone knew any good methods to moneytizing this? Basicly, i can let their browser do whatever i want since it is javascript based and it gets the .js file from my server.

how did it get installed in the system? package software? if yes what kind of software was it? like a game or movie streaming or file sharing or what kind?

For which browser your plugin is ? Firefox, Chrome ? etc do you update the version?

Simple plugin at the moment, for example a 'dislike' button. Or extra functionality for a website etc etc. (not going to reveal niche).

Why does it matter how it got installed?

Chrome, and update is possible, more like a 'backdoor' that includes a file on my server that i can fill with javascript if i need the plugin to do additional stuff

Sounds like you want to know how to monetize your b*o*t*n*e*t. This is the wrong forum to ask about that.

I'm sorry, then every toolbar is a botnet... If the user accepts a tos stating that we can do whatever, then thats their opinion, its not like my installs were driveby downloads... they had to click through stuff on my site and on chrome store.

I never said that your product wasn't legitimate or that you used devious methods to get it installed. You asked how you could monetize a large amount of computers that you don't own that you are gaining access to through a "Backdoor" your word not mine. I'm not condemning the method if thats what it is. I was simply saying this might not be the best place to ask about it. And yes many toolbars are used in bnets to DNS jack and all other kinds of stuff. But its your software and your TOS I don't really care and I'll be leaving now
