Your 'moneysite' is the website that ultimately makes you money, through ecommerce, membership payments, service payments, CPA affiliate links, ads etc. (though I would argue that CPA and adsense niche sites can act as really good tier 1s for 'proper' money sites). Your official website should totally be your money site - it's what you make your income from right?
 
In seo jargon moneysite is top level site of your tiered backlink network. It's a old seo term which is not that much in use as tiered linkbuilding is declining.

Oh really tiered link building is declining? How come? Is it not okay anymore to do tiered link building now ? I am about to do it lol haha

Hi,A money site is your official /Main website. The website that generates revenue for its owner. A money site can be a blog post with a form, affiliate blog post with affiliate links, or just about any site that can be monetized.

Honestly theres no evidence I can provide, but some seo like matt diggity claim that google tack back 3 tier deep to check quality of a backlink. Since most of tier 3 is junk links so its not effective.
 
It's your main site that you start building backlinks to. People tend to have more than one sites so they the common term is money sites.
