Just curious, what exactly did you do to make 1K so far? Or is it from an older income stream?
You mentioned that you'll promote yourself with local seo, then joined freelancer site but decided not to compete with $5 per hour, you tried to find leads on linkedin but couldn't cause of friends, then you decided that you'll post listings.
Looks like you're trying different things, so not sure what you're doing exactly right now to make money.
I'm doing copywriting but I am signed up to a content mill managing to get something from those crappy clients.
What I'm doing right now is preparation to spam heavily with my offer. Setting up the portfolio with some unique sales copy. I will see with tests what it can produce.
1. Will buy public announcements.
2. I'll make a GMB listing, but first I will probably need to get a way to get office space where I'll be able to verify my GMB.
3. Will post on facebook groups.
4. Will post on local forums.
5. Will SEO my website.
6. Will make a new LinkedIn account and use some different name there, so people who aren't interested in business don't spam me.
The key is to quit the content mill and charge twice as much. That'd be $2.5k of monthly income instead of $1.25k with medium effort.
An important thing in this is to make a routine where it's difficult to disturb me.
Content production requires the same focus as programming in my experience. But it's less taxing in terms of mental power.
Coding can become a riddle while writing is a creative task.
This is supposed to be the main source of income. I'll invest money from this and spend some time coding to boost my CPA campaign and approach great autopilot cash there.
I know work has its limitations, so I need to setup business that will be more automated.
I'm considering setting up something like a pseudo agency, but it's too much at the same time. So we will see with time.
Maybe it's easier to compete if you present yourself as a company? Who knows.
On the other hand I think having a physical office and maybe 5 - 6 interns onsite, I'd be able to prove someone locally that it's all real!
So it'd be easier to close a sale.
Edit: nope, it's all about the word of mouth. And yeah, that's how you get ez clients. It's difficult to get good testimonials. Maybe I'll give something for free and ask for testimonials. It's easy to prepare a 500 word article. Win.
