Got a site which ranks well I started in March this year - i've added 2500+ word articles all-optimized, over 40 published and live.

It needs to now sit and marinate.

Is it wise to start a second site in the same niche now? Confident the first site will be doing revenue in the next 3 months (No PBN - clean).

Are you following Income School? I was thinking on letting mine sit and start a 2nd.

What is income school, not heard of it?

I'm thinking to start second site, let content marinate for 3-4 months - start building links to this.

Once content is done on second, move onto third perhaps.

Looked up income school - validated my idea.

I'd start another one, but not in the same niche.

thanks, why not in the same niche?
Competing with yourself
No benefit from the SEO you've already done
Reduces your perceived authority on the topic
More maintenance

The real question is why would you want to do a second site in the same niche?

I do all my sites in the same niche, because I know what works, how to get traffic, how to monetize it

If I switch niche I now compete with so many people who understand that niche better than me

If I stay in same niche I keep working in niche where I understand how everything works

That's really great for you and everything but I still think you'd be better off with one site unless there's something that differentiates them. There's no reason to split everything up.

What the F is income school, and why is everyone on BHW talking about them all of the sudden? Didn't know you guys liked gurus lol.

And yes, more than 1 if I were you. I've had 6 properties on page one before in a niche (including 2 parasites) - Why have 1 site when you have have 3+?

But if you only have one site you can't churn and burn. you can't rank multiple sites for the same keyword. there's keywords where multiple of my sites rank in top 10

you can't experiment with risky backlink profiles. maybe you make one site and test GSA, make another site test PBN, make another site test BHW link packages, make another site test link trading. see what works best and focus you efforts there on your next site

with multiple sites you can test your on-site strategies too--maybe you make one site with only a few pages, and another with thousands of pages. maybe for one niche its good to keep link juice on home page and focus on limited number of keywords. maybe for another niche its good to have lots of different keywords that could rank. you can only find out if you make multiple sites in same niche

I try to mix both strategy--I don't make a ton of sites, but I make enough to test different strategies in isolation from each other. On the sites I make, I try to do all the best things for them that I can think of.

Same niche is fine.competing yourself rather than others. It has the difficulty of bringing quality content though

If everything is clean and you're confident it'll be stable, why not make use of that site's authority and expand it? Even more reason to do so if you're planning to make a new site on the same niche.
I would do both, that and making a new site on a different niche.

If you're going to experiment with black hat methods then yes, obviously you're right. OP gave off more of a vibe that he's taking these sites seriously for the long term.
