    Hello all,

Thanks for all the clever articles. I've been reading for quite some time now, but I can't figure out a good enough way to make money off my website.

It deals with freestyle soccer videos. The site is www.beyondfootball.com. I also have a forum with about 300 unique visitors a day. The website gets about 400-500 uniques itself. Right now I have Google Adsense and some paying links on there.

I'm thinking there's gotta be another clever way of making money from this website, especially since it has to do with videos. Anyone got any ideas by any chance?

A couple ideas...not sure where you want to go...

    - sportsbook betting (soccer games)
    - selling merchandise (lots of soccer affiliate programs out there)
    - sell soccer video games
    - amazon/ebay ads
    - sell cameras and soccer balls (to make the videos)
    - tag the videos, upload to metacafe etc and try to earn some that way

    Great post Jagged55.

I think a large portion of my visitors are under 18, so I don't know about the sports betting.

On the other hand, I'll take a stab at the merchandise, games, and cameras. I think the camera idea is a great one.

When you say "tag the videos," what do you exactly mean?

Also, when you mention making money with Metacafe, do you mean the $5 per 1000 impressions?

Tag the videos = just embed your url in the videos so that everyone who watches and especially shares them knows where they came from (so that they know where to go for more. Even if the video isn't yours, do what you can.

Yes, the under 18 thing could be a bit of a problem but for the amount of time and space it takes to slap up a text link or banner, it is worth the "gamble" (ya I know, bad joke). With the camera idea, you can even do a step by step guide of how to make and submit the videos to your site with recommendations on which equipment to use.

I have never made money with Metacafe but you may as well give it a try. If it is a good video, you will get a lot of traffic quite quickly. I think the best ones would be how to videos that are based on tricks like the elastico etc (not sure if you have them on your site or not). Obviously anything realted to Ronaldinho and his moves are popular.

I've noticed that most of the Amazon products I need come from the UK based Amazon. I signed up for the US account since that's where I'm located, but it seems worthless when it comes to soccer DVDs. Am I allowed to us the UK Amazon Associates account?

This is my question? If you are from the US, why is a "football" type website being promoted as soccer. IF you are in the US and search "football", you are expecting the NFL or College NCAA to pop up. I know most the the world thinks of football and soccer as one in the same. But not here in the US. Being from the US myself, once I saw that the football ment soccer. It kind of lost my interest.

Now, I am not putting down your site (design looks pretty good) or am I putting down soccer. I guess that it is demographics on how you would like to market the site.

Now I agree with the above post also, sport's betting is extremely popular.

This is the whole idea behind niche marketing. There are millions (yes millions) of US residents that refer to american soccer as football. So if you can rank, you are going to convert.

I see BBC Football as #2 for football at google behind NFL.com so that kinda tells you something right there. I am not being sarcastic, it is just an example that people should think outside the box as much as possible.
