Money making opportunity

Ok. Here is what i got :

1. An website with 13 published article. Niche : Engineering . getting impressions but not much click. Domain age 2 month

2. Youtube channel of 3.5 k sub. Making 300 usd per month. Niche stock market.

3. Another bought monetized yt channel with 1.2 k sub. Currently not working.

I have been in IM since 2017. Made 12 k usd so far. Not much as i have full time job to do.

With those resources what more can i do?

Ideas are appreciated.

I'm not familiar with Youtube marketing so I'll address the engineering site...

13 articles is too little, and the fact that you're not getting clicks could be because of several things:

a) your CTR is poor, in which case you need to rewrite your meta titles, but if google rewrites your titles anyway there's nothing you can do I'm afraid;
b) your articles (even those they're few) are not ranking where they should be / not ranking at all, in which case you need to improve the SEO of those articles;
c) your site has too little content (which it does) and you're probably already milking those articles for all their worth, in which case you need to add more content (and you do);
d) your 13 articles don't target any meaningful keywords, so they'll never get clicks because they're not relevant to any query that people might google for;

In this case, you need to either rewrite all those articles (or at least the ones that don't target good / any keywords), or - if they do target good keywords - you need to improve their SEO like I said at point b.

Note: even if you add more content and improve your site's SEO, you might still not make money due to the niche (I've almost never seen monetization options in the Engineering niche), so you'll probably have to rely on selling your own products via PPC or partnerships with other businesses of the same profile

Actually i have just started. According to semrush my highest ranked kw is in 49 th position. Pretty bad.

My target is to publish 1000 article. But with manual research and writing i dont know how much time will it take.


In the meantime can i do anything else with my site. I will buy another domain if needed.

I saw there are hundreds of Engineering niche when i search them. They are monetized and making 10k +

assuming you're going to research and write one article per day that's 1000 days, which means 3+ years. Now, if you were to outsource this... say, have 10-20 articles written per week for a few $100s... that'd be better IMO.

you can, and you should! Just not by buying another domain, that does nothing.

I obviously can't go into details as I'll be here for hours, but you should start with analyzing your competition (their content quality and backlinks mostly) to see what you're up against, then finding 1000 approachable keywords (because you want to write 1000 articles so 1 article targets 1 keyword / group of keywords with the same intent), writing the content, publishing it, getting it indexed, and then follow the progress of those 1000 articles to see which performs better (so you can boost its rankings) and which performs poorly so you can edit it, build links to it, or delete / 301 it, whatever's necessary.

But this auditing and adjusting phase comes later, after you will have already ranked a bunch of pages. Until then you need to get your existing content ranked and publishing more content... although, this applies to content sites, I'm not sure how sites in the Engineering niche are treated as I've no experience with this niche.

not necessarily. If the keyword is tough, 49 is a great position to be in with only 13 articles considering that many people can't even break into top 100 for medium competition keywords. But I'd take a guess that your keyword gets less than 100 monthly visitors and it's a 3-word / 4-word long keyword, which is not bad if it has commercial value. But it's probably informational keyword (as these keywords tend to rank easier than commercial ones), but I'm just guessing, like I said...

Yes all are info content and info kw. 49 th position cause not many people are writing about it but its getting 30+ impression per day.. No click though.

My target is posting 1k article as soon as possible and see what happens. As you said, manually this is long term process and hard work.


Engineering niche is less competitive yet searchable. Some big guys of my niche are getting 100-200 k pageviews per month

yes but how do they make money with it?? Because when I think of Engineering I usually think of big, industrial machinery like bulldozers, boring machines, etc. And I don't see how you can monetize this if you don't own that kind of machinery that you can sell.

But, of course, Engineering is a vast niche (actually, it's an industry, not a niche), and it consists of many sub-niches and you probably operate in one of these sub-niches, I don't know... Anyway, how do those guys make money with this niche? You don't need to disclose the niche (it would actually be advisable not to disclose it), just tell me if you're seeing Adsense / other ads on their sites... or maybe they're building a list (do they have opt-in forms on their sites)... or maybe they have digital products (highly unlikely)...

you're not going to get clicks as long as you're on page 5 of google (people rarely click beyond page 1, beyond page 2 is a stretch, and beyond page 3 is only the weirdos / desperate / missclickers). You need to improve the ranking by taking a good look at your competition's content and backlinks, like I said in a previous post.

Check what they do great with their content and replicate it, check where their content is poor and fix with your own content, then check how many RDs their pages (not sites, but the pages that rank for your keyword) have, what kind of anchors they're using, and what the quality of their backlinks is and try to replicate it.

After you've done these things wait 1-2 weeks after google picks them up and if you're not on page 2 of the SERPs (at least) it means that you're up against really tough competition (although I doubt it)

I don't know what engineering means, but for me it goes like this:

Engineering -> field of engineering (like computer science) -> subfield of the field (like programming) -> your domain of expertise. In the domain you can go broad, niche or micro-niche.

Broad would be smth like "all about frontend". Niche would be "all about some technology (like framework or library)". Microniche would be something like "all about react (or other framework) templates and how you can do them to make money".

The general rule is that micro-niche is the least competitive and broad is the most competitive. You will have easier than finding long-tail keywords if you focus on micro niches.

Computer science is the only engineering field I know, so that's in my example. Use your subfield of engineering and find niches and microniches.

Those sites have ads. Adsense, ezoic or even mediavine. Engineering is a vast niche. Even roofing or tiles are under engineering sector.

I am not against tough competition, but those sites have high authority, backlinks while i am extremely new, like a child. So i think i need more content with low competition kw.

I can literally make a lot of content but i need to make it on my own. I dont think paid writers Have that technical knowledge.

Thousands of journal, research paper publishes every day. I can summarize them and make an article easily. But i need to read Through the whole paper, so it takes time.

This kind of sites are useful for students and engineers.

Yeah, I don't believe that too. You would need to hire another engineer and their prices are exorbitant. So unless you're able to have an agency hiring experienced people, do the work by yourself.

I'd focus on something niche and have papers in some specific category for now.

Thats correct. Need to niche down. Though my site has 6 categories and i already make 2-3 posts per category. They are getting good impressions from us, uk although 9 click Only so far

Revive the second channel to scale your income.

Work on YT Channel no. 2... Make more on no. 1

Well in my opinion you should focus on the youtube channel as i see you already make money with ,work hard with that youtube channel and grow it

Yes focus on what's working for you. Youtube.
But don't give up on engg site.
One thing I learn in tech niche is that there are always people trying to outrank you even you reach 1st position in your posts. So you gotta plan accordingly and be ready to continuesly work on tech niche site.

Tech niche is all about finding low volume kw. You can't really add literature there.

Enhance your thought in content. It should be more prioritized by the people.
