Hello All,

So I have a 3 character domain name that I've turned into a url shortener
Code:
zu1(dot)com
. I'm now receiving on average 60,700 monthly unique visits to the site. How should I rake in some money off of this traffic? I'm also considering selling the site/domain if that would bring in a decent lump sum of money.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Inbox me if your interested in buying the site. :)

Install small adsense on your site close to the link creation button. Go for long text option that can look like a menu so users click.

Show relevant amazon or CJunction links using keywords from string entered in shortner.

Awesome idea @latinofever. I think ima implement that today.

Thanks

I created an URL shortening service in Danish, English and French and had it running for free for several years. People could choose their own "shortened" name, which was new back then.

I had plans on offering statistics and the possibility to change the URL's for a paid membership, not very expensive, but when people learned that it costed money, they were only interested in the free version.

So I let it go after a while. They didn't even click on ads or anything. It couldn't pay the $10 per year, which it costed to keep the domain.

go.to/

Ever see this url shortener?

It's a little different than bit ly and the rest because after the slash instead of having random characters you instead put in there what you want.

go.to/yourwebsitename

I'm not sure this applies to what the OP is talking about, but this is good for people who lack their own domain but want to have a simple and "personalized" url.

Anyway, since the OP has a url shortener made up, why not monetize it by using a captcha? You know, like a captcha with ads. People who click on the shortened url have to "verify they are human" and see an ad while doing it.

I saw minteye.kom (with a c) is offering a very interesting monetized captcha service.
Why not combine something like what they have with your url shortener? Does what I'm saying make any sense? Instead of having cpa offers or timed ads like adf ly and adf ocus why not have just a simple monetized captcha?

You could also copy go.to/ and offer a "premium customized url service" (keyword premium) too
