Monetizing Spammy Article Directory

So I have an Article Directory (built on ArticleSetup), it was intended to be a article directory with quality articles, but I kind of forgot about it and never turned auto publish off. So now its just a spammy article factory. It gets about 50k UV Awstats, 2k UV Google Analytics; more if I don't limit the bandwidth. I put chitika ads on the site, I didn't want to risk adsense as I suspect some if not most of the traffic is bot traffic.

My question is how can I monetize this traffic? Or is it truly just junk traffic only good for lowering alexa (which it happens to do well)?

I'm not usually one to bump my own thread, but this is something I'm actually curious about. Anyone have ANY thoughts on the subject?

I thought about that though, but how would that work? Would it just be a simple redirect to another url?

I don't think anyone would pay for advertising on a spammy article site, I could be wrong though. Any experience/thoughts on the quality of site people are willing to put their ads on? Also when I turn off auto publishing for articles the traffic slows down, that would factor into it as well correct?

Sorry for all the noobish questions, but I do appreciate the input :)

What about selling links (homepage/contextual) on fiverr? Or is that market too crowded to turn a real profit?
 
See if any of those spammy articles actually rank anywhere for money keywords. It's a long shot but it happens more than people think. Like if you have a page on your site that is ranking for a popular affiliate keyword, you could put your own affiliate banners and link onto the page.

You could be shocked, some people just want traffic and don't really care where it comes from. Fiverr on the other hand is a great option if you can get ranked as a top seller if not it is next to impossible anymore to get a good start because everyone is using it.

This is true. I knew a guy who was basically a con artist and would send shitty traffic to a thin site and mass produce them and just sell them off to newbies. Sad but true.

I think I'll make a few gigs on fiverr and see how it goes. I probably won't be a top seller but 5 bucks here and there is better than none, right?

Again thanks for the input guys. If you have anymore suggestions I'm definitely open to them.
