Monetizing Soundcloud?

Sorry for posting so many threads in quick succession (just a few actually), but I have a lot of questions

My brother is a very talented dubstep/hiphop producer and is well liked by many. My question is, other than by directly selling mp3 files via website like beatport, is there a way to monetize soundcloud pages?

Subquestion - what are effective ways for promoting artists such as my brother? I used youtube comment spamming for a short while and increased his total views by 16% which was huge, but might there be better ways? Thanks!

I actually havea friend who also produces DNB, dubstep and trance.

He makes money by playing local shows and selling his song through youtube funnels and soundcloud.

I suggest your brother play as many local shows as possiple and that way gain partners and people in the game already.

Better answer your question.

Start local and from there you expand to city's town's around you. You will start to get well known.

Mostly no, Just free music for the fans. It the place to promote and get money someone else from live shows.

Fans mean money

You just need to get a big enough fan base then move them off souncloud to website

Well, you are about 2 years late. I know some artists that jumped into fame and died because heroine in less than that time

it is indeed possible to monetize your Soundcloud tracks! This option was implemented with their On.Soundcloud update earlier this year.

soundcloud is just a redirecter to your website/youtube with your links for ..."offer"
