Monetizing 'Share for Share' Fan Pages

Hi there,

I wonder if any of you guys can help solve this problem I've been having:

I've been advertising CPA offers on my fan pages (have access to 10 of around 500k-1 million) and I've been seeing limited success, earning $20 per status on e-mail submits :|

In 2010, I was earning $600-$700 per status using the same methods and similar statuses.

Now the only difference between then and now, is in the way the pages have been built to have so many fans.

Back then it was all organic -> Now it's using share for share (you share my page on your page and I'll do the same for you, resulting in more fans for both pages).

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with why the pages are producing such low revenue per status?

Does building a page with a share for share system in turn reduce the quality of the page?

Have you had better success with building pages organically, not using share for shares...?

this might be a reason, bro.
but in my opinion you should definitly earn much more than 20 $ per status update. Did you ever think of a "share if you want to see the content" script?
or other stuff?

Have you had any success with content locking scripts?

I know there's still huge potential in fan pages, I just think this kind of page may be lower quality because of the amount of statuses posted (spammed), just need some clarification so I can move on and adapt my strategy.

the reason why your pages are not making money now is simple . EDGERANK!!! no longer can all your fans see your status only the fans that interact with t he page daily, so basically only 10% off your fans actually see the status update.

For example, I post status updates, with the sole purpose of increasing fan interaction & their edgerank, at peak usage times for my target market.

I get 4,000 - 6,000 likes on these statuses, so that's why I can't explain the lack of activity and revenue earned on my money statuses.

then there is only one reason for it. basically nowadays when you post a link on facebook, if FB detects its an aff link and they can, they will throw up a warning, saying to your fans beware of the link that the site is not trusted. this happens when i launch viral campaigns. same message appears for a few hours, everytime i post that link, the same message appears.which means FB is picking up the redirectors in your aff link.you might want to find a way to cloak it better, might help you.remember you cant see this warning but all your fans can.

i have large pages as well and this happens all the time Fb is trying to stop people accessing these sites.

Well,Yes...People start hiding your posts and the reach of your fan page becomes less...I would say,rather than doing s4s...Make a few bucks by posting links to some troll site of yours and put in a few ads...the traffic will not get saturated by doing this.
And whenever you need to run an app,you can post it to earn better.

Facebook pages grown is hard to come by. its very competitive out there.

buildig awareness for the page via contests/fb ads is a must

It seems the general feeling toward FB is that it is only getting more and more competitive every day, but it is still worth the effort? Did I understand that correctly?

Months ago, I loved the social interaction between members of Fan Pages, but now it's difficult to have those same fans actually SEE any posting by my primary profile. Perhaps it's time to consider alternative social applications...
