What would be the best way to monitise a domainame that is related to a specific event like: http://www.fathersday.com, animal day.com, valentinesday.com?

Seasonal monetization. Nothing most of the year but a bang during season.

People buy a lot of products via Amazon on these days so their affiliate program could do.

Maybe even related eBook or app.

You can even go more general and make it about the topic, not just the holiday itself and cover the whole year. For valentine's day it could be about love and dating for example.

As @tiiberius Said Affiliate is the best option to make money from your domain.

Not only the amazon affiliate , there are many affiliate programs available.
