Monetizing Multiple Twitter Accts

I apologize in advance for this question... I am very new to the world of Twitter.

I'm curious as to what the benefit of having hundreds or thousands of Twitter accounts is, and how people are making money with them. Is it just a matter of having all of these followers to push your products (aff products) to, or is it something completely different?

The main purpose of twitter is to help build your branding. Whether you are a one man show to a large corporation twitter helps you interact with your customers and people interested in what you do. There are many services that can help you monetize your account(s) by talking about events, products, or websites. There are many ways they pay you per tweet others per clicks on the sponsored link.
