    Hello,

I am fairly new to blogging in the gaming niche. I started my blog about two months ago. I am averaging 2500 unique visitors per day 30% from South Korea 25% from USA 25% from Canada and the rest from around the world.. I am using Adsense but so far since the blog has started I have made a whopping $2.31. I am wondering if this is normal and if not what else I should be doing to monetize this better.

    Thank you!

First of all, check other similar gaming blogs and see where they are placing the ads and test it on yours.

I would also go into google and check on gaming and gambling sites, this might be more relevant to what your blog is about.

I have been looking around and am switching to Wordpress with theme Newspaper.. From what I can find on Google that is the best theme for Adsense.

Do you mean in the "Hide Block Ads" tab? If so as it is set up right now everything is enabled.

You should build a list bro.
Then promote things to your list, new games, consoles, exclusive deals etc.

My blog is dedicated to one specific online game so this would be hard to do, keeping relevant I would think?

Bumping for another question.. I am just wondering if the $2.35 is normal for 15,000 unique visits or if it means that I clearly have something set up wrong.

That is pretty light earnings for that number of visits. Are you seeing high impression numbers in adsense? Clearly you aren't seeing very many actual clicks. Sounds like there is definitely an issue of some sort. I don't know how it's even possible to have that low of earnings from that much traffic. I'm guessing people are not seeing your ads for some reason.

I was in a similar position a couple of weeks ago. Made a wordpress site just for the fun of it, promoted it on facebook a bit, and now im getting anywhere from 1000 - 5500 uniques a day. Im averaging around 2500 a day so far. I set up adsense and I earnt a bit more than you, about £20 (english) in the first week or so. I'm now in the process of setting up google consumer surveys. It looks promising. They pay 5 cents (4p for my fellow brits) per question answered. It takes a few of weeks for them to review you, and get the test surveys out of the way, you wont earn anything from it in this time, but the sooner you apply, the sooner you can get accepted.

Ive not seen anything on here about it, I dont know if Im being naive or too optimistic about it as Im also new to it. If it works for me, I'll post something on BHW about it, but from what I've read, it should earn me a bit of extra cash.

For now though, make sure your ads are displayed at the top of your page and in the content. I read thats where they should be, so thats where mine are and Im getting at least that many clicks a day.

    Good Luck!!

Wow, okay that sounds great I will be sure to check it out - Thank you!

As far as ad placement I always felt it "too much" to put the ads everywhere, you know? I think about how turned off I am by ads all over the pages. The only places I had ads were my sidebar and at the top of an article.. I have now switched to Sidebar, top of every page, top of article, bottom of article and footer.. We will see how it goes I just don't want all these users turned off by the amount of ads which is a funny thing to say considering I just got into this blog to see if I could earn money.. I have spent so much time on it that it actually means something to me now haha
