Monetizing a 9gag clone - SEO work

Today i configured and setup a "funny pics and videos" site from a 9gag clone i found on the net and i:

* Populated the site with pics and vids
* Made a Facebook Page and App and hooked it up to the site
* Made a Twitter account and enabled auto tweet for each post. Tweets also show on the FB page
* Ran Rapid Indexer with SB
* Found some PR4 5 and 6 blogs with scrapebox and manually commented on about 15 of them for backlinking purposes (no blasts)
* Populated the ad space with my Adsense ads
* Tweeted and Liked my page and inviteed others to it

I am hoping to be able to monetize this site by attracting visitors to it who will hopefully be kind (or stupid) enough to click on my ads. I am aware that i will have to have a substantial amount of traffic even to reach $10 a day but i think its doable.

My question to you guys is, when taking the above steps into account, do you think i have missed something and if so what more could i have done?

If I start making fictional threads and posts about how I make more money in a day than Bill Gates ever has had a chance to admire, do you think I would have a bigger chance of getting a response?

The problem is everyone and their aunt has one of these sites hell even i had one up until last week went i stopped the site and sold the domain off. Its not worth it unless you can produce unique content which no body else has, simply taking other peoples pictures and videos is going to get you no where.

That's what 9GAG does.... Most of the content is taken from sites like reddit and 4 chan (why is that censored?).

9Gag and a few others get away with it because they are the biggest sites around, people tend to follow the popular sites. By posting things on your site that can be found at 9gag why would people come to your site instead... They wouldn't. The only way to get into the niche is unique content.

OP, you'll be able to monetize your site if you run your SEO procedure pretty much every single day.

Seeing as there doesn't seem to be a unique angle relating to the idea, except maybe the niche(which can be the single most important factor when dealing with similar sites/clones), the only way to really stand out will be to increase exposure more than the next guy is.

yeah man this is a tough niche to be in. I just launched my site or else i would provide some insight how to gain some traffic.

Maybe you should would for a bit longer then 1h15 before you start complaining you get no replies..

ontopic: setup a tumblr blog and post pics from your site there regularely with the clickthrough set to your site and drive traffic from tumblr that way. follow other funny pics tumblrs.

Thanks for your reply guys! I've been thinking about twisting the script around and make it into something different than what it was supposed to be used for, but ill give this a try for the next couple of weeks and see if it takes off.

Saxgod - I'll keep that in mind before whining about Bill Gates money next time lol
