I am partnered with a network.
When I upload a video I use a refresher till about 250-280 views with the video being monetized. Before I start using services which then I turn the monetization off.
Is this dangerous? because youtube does not check the views before the freezing point.
I have been using the refresher method for about 2 years now and nothing has happened.
But I'm still interested to know if all this time I have been putting myself at risk.

Note that the reason I use a refresher instead of a service before 300 views is to just not waste money/points on easy views.
Also my network CPM is in the range of 1-3$ per 1000 views.

Thanks for the help!

If you're with a network, just leave monetization on.

The only reason people turn it off is so their adsense doesn't get disabled. Networks never check (well, Fullscreen and Machinima certainly don't). Bought hundreds of thousands of views over the last 2 years. Nothing bad has happened. But risk is always there.

And don't bother with the refresher.

You're absolutely putting yourself at risk and I'm shocked they haven't banned you yet. I'm assuming the only reason you've flown under the radar is because you're going through a third party network and not Adsense directly.

If it's worked for 2 years with no issues, I wouldn't be too worried. Is there a risk? Absolutely.

What kind of view services do you use?

Watching your own videos repeatedly is not a crime and does not break YouTube's rules in any way. That's why the 301 limit was created. However those views won't count as monetizable views.
