Yes. Gaming Videos, even gaming shorts are still very popular whether it is stream or offline (video). Based on Twitch numbers only for MK, it's isn't super popular but still has some audience to it.
You may have to experiment with it, with full videos, highlights, shorts, combo guides, playthru guides etc. to see what works best

You can actually monetize uploading Mortal Kombat Fights on YouTube or other video sharing platforms. You play the game on your phone, stream it, record your game session, and upload it to your YouTube channel.

I have seen many game channels get monetized, most of them have millions of views. It advisable to use a phone instead of a desktop to prevent buying the app. Also thinking of doing the same with Call of duty.
The feeling is getting paid doing what you love the most.

Second is shorts, TikTok, Reels, and Youtube. This will take more effort and happen over time. You can make combo videos, tutorial videos, controller setting videos, etc.
Third is hustling the competitions but a heads-up, you won't be beating SonicFox or FoxyGrandpa, who are the kings of competitive Mortal Kombat.

I'm genuinely pretty good at the game, def don't no life it like sonicfox, but i can hold up pretty well in online.
i see majority of these online clips get around 10k views usually, and if you put 4k in top right corner in thumbnail, more views
but i can get monetized just posting videos?
