Monetize a SFW subreddit

I have a SFW subreddit with 10k members it does about 170k-200k visitors per month, I'm not sharing the niche but it's a very popular one and will continue to grow. I have done 0 monetization on it so far but want to do so within the next couple of weeks

The subreddit is the biggest online community in the niche, so I have a huge reach and influence. Very important and influential people lurk in my community and some have even dm'd me, I'm hoping to reach the first page of Google by next month and hopefully things should speed up.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can monetize this niche? I can provide services or sell software to my community; however, I am unsure about the best approach. As everyone knows mods cant monetize subreddits, so I was thinking of creating a free offer(tool or service) collecting emails and linking my paid offer on my free offer website to monetize my audience.

What I can share about my audience:
-Majority 1st world English speakers
-Mix of consumers and business owners(perhaps 50/50)
-Business owners have money to spend
-I have associated discord with 2k members
-I've had several dm's by people looking to partner with my to promote their services or tools
-I've had dm's from very influential people in the niche
-100% SFW

Has anyone done this successfully? If so, any advice?

I have the ability to basic tools in my niche with programming

I would use my authority in that niche, take those affiliate offers from the big fishes in your community, even if they try to grow a competition you still have auth imo.
 
Promote Adult Smartlink or even OF girls through CrakRevenue. CrakRevenue has a feature where you can promote OF girls now. Maybe you can look into it, that's how I would go about monetizing it.

I don't want to be an affiliate tbh rather build my own products or services, I've done affiliate for a tool in another subreddit I have in the same niche but slightly different and not worth it IMO. The offer owner gets to keep the bread while you get crumbs, leaving too much money on the table by being an affiliate even if its 50/50.

They can easily exit and sell the business and make a ton of cash while you get left with 0. I need ownership. Lastly, adding links to paid links or services is way too risky and can get you or the subreddit banned. As a mod, it's technically not allowed, which is why I stopped doing it. The original creator of r/wallstreetbets lost ownership to the sub because of similar reasons.

It's not nsfw so those offers wont convert - not interested in being an affiliate either

Why would i share my niche and risk my subreddit getting banned, I've already shared details
 
The first thing I would do is offer something from your niche, with value, for free, and that requires registration with an email. It is important that your community does not depend on a social network, if the users are on reddit, "they are from reddit", not yours.
From there, without knowing what niche or what sector at least, it is difficult to give you ideas about whether it is better software, services, products, etc.
 
Since influential people are already reaching out to you, explore partnerships that allow you to promote their services without being an affiliate

Whatever form of monetization you choose to go with, there few suggestions I have for you so you don't run into an issue I had:

1.Don't monetize with your main account(account that owns the sub). Promoting offers and affiliate links with your main account could result in reddit banning your account. This happened to me, though my sub was a small NSFW sub but it was ranking and getting some CPA conversions for me. I lost access to the sub. Have another account you use to post or promote your affiliate links. Don't make this account ad admin so Reddit doesn't consider the entire sub as something built to promote affiliates.​
2. Add another reddit account of someone you trust or even your alternative account as admin. This is so that should main account ever get banned you'll still have access to the sub. Also treat this account as the main account, don't use it to promote any offers or affiliate links.​
3. At a minimum you should have 3 accounts which you control. Two as admin/mod on the sub, they'll solely before admin and mod duties and regular conversations. While the third account is what you use to promote offers, however you want to do it.​

The reason I recommended the above is because I lost a sub that way.

Now, you could promote products or services related to your niche/industry. It's simply what you have to do. You could reach agreement with those influential people and businesses contacting you. But whatever you do, don't attract the negative attention of reddit's admin/moderators.

Once again, as I don't know your niche I can't narrow things down, but I assume in your sub people ask questions about products and services, you could use the conversation in comments to promote and use upvotes to push the comment to the top.

That’s my current thought which also allow me to bypass the monetization rule. I will probably create a free saas tool to collect emails and link my paid offer on the website of the free offer

1. Yep aware of this and tbh I was doing it for another smaller sub I had but stopped doing it for this specific reason. Sorry to hear you got banned do you know if it was maybe a competitor who got you banned? What I don’t understand is how some big subs are able to promote affiliate offers for years blatantly without getting the sub overtaken or banned. There are many examples of this in the fashion niche some of those subs in the niche are promoting multiple offers in the side bars.
2. I have one main account and one alt account as mods, I added the alt account once I read about the story of the founder of r/wallstreetbets who got removed from the sub

I'm glad you're aware of this and are taking precautions.

The subs blatantly promoting offers probably have inside contact.

I don’t think they have as I’ve seen many subs do this, the specific sub i referenced almost has 2 million members and there are affiliate links everywhere even the community hub is filled with affiliate links. The same mods for the sub with almost 2 million members have another subreddit they mod with almost 1 million members that has affiliate links too.

Reddit seems to enforce this rule randomly and it’s very grey area I doubt everyone with big subs who are monetizing have an insider

This is a possibility there is someone top of the industry who reached out trying to become mod but i turned them down and gave them flare instead
 
I have chosen to go down the free saas route as bait to collect emails for now looking launch asap
 
If you have active viewers and a specfic niche, you can make at least 200$-300$ per week.

are you a developer? Create a saas could be a pain in the ass or very expensive.

You can try with a free book of your niche, writen by a IA, just for register. I made saveral of them and is a good start.

Yes i am, also have a partner who is also a developer. We already created a app for my community but long story short it was only released to my discord and never on the sub. This time we have a better plan, I used a tool to scrape info in my sub to find common pain points and we are now planning to create a tool that solves these issue.

I am on the fence about ebooks. They just seem super spammy and low-hanging fruit, but the AI approach is actually a good suggestion and something I was not thinking of. Did you market your ebook to subreddits or another audience?
