YouTube added a new policy to make the platform even more difficult. Starting June 5th, the monetization re-application period is increasing from 30 days to 90 days.
Updates to the YouTube Partner Program Re-apply Policy: Starting June 5, 2023, we are increasing the waiting period from 30 days to 90 days in our YouTube Partner Program (YPP) re-apply policy. Channels whose YPP regulations have been viewed or rejected multiple times must now wait 90 days before reapplying. If your application to the YouTube Partner Program is rejected for the first time, it receives visitors again after 30 days. You must wait 90 days before reapplying for the restart program. This change will not affect our objections policy. Channels can appeal rejection and continuation decisions within 21 days. If your appeal is not approved and your YPP application has been rejected before, you must wait 90 days before reapplying to the program.

That’s quite the increase. I guess they want to weed out low quality applications and make people think more about their content before they apply.

Well, less work for them.
It's quite easy getting accepted to ypp, guess they are just tired of spam channels.

Guess they want to effectively screen out channels that are not meeting these standards.

You should make multiple channels to fight against this. Till the waiting period, you can work and apply on other channels.

This is very discouraging for new channels. YouTube is taking harsh decisions now because it has monopoly.
