Monetization enabled, but ads not showing

I have an old channel and i recently enabled monetization on it. Id did not offer any steps and there is no 10k views counter like for new channels, even though I do not have 10k total views on that channel. The problem is that ads are not showing even though i have that green dollar sign beside every video. Could it be that I actually have to reach 10k views on that old account too, but counter is not showing because the channel was made before that new rule?

Wait for a while maybe it will update soon. YouTube has been a little buggy these days.

Here's the solution: You have to make a google adsense account. (I know this because the same thing happened to me). They allow you to turn on monetization without it but you won't actually get ads unless you create and link your adsense account. Done!

You will see the green dollar sign next to your videos, but ads will not show until you hit 10,000 total views on that channel.

Yeah this could be the reason. Green dollar sign means that the videos are apt for monetization but you do not have permissions to monetize them right away
