Monetising News Traffic

Hi People.

I have a site which gets traffic from Google News. Traffic is all Celebrity and Entertainment News mainly USA traffic but also other geos such as India.

Traffic currently around 50,000 uniques per day but it does vary.

So far we have a managed ads network on there which does slightly better than Google adwords but only $40 - $50 per day. Also got push notifications on there making $15 - $20 per day.

The site is DA 34 and I make a little extra from guest posts/link requests. It still seems like very low revenue for the amount of traffic.

I just feel there must be some extra ways to monetise this traffic.

Does anyone have any tried and tested suggestions?

Ťry guest post, $10-$25 for each article.

50k users per day is a good amount of traffic to get accepted to decent networks and even run the whole ad server. How many pageviews per visit and time on site? Working with AdSense only won't get you far as you give up all your bids at a default price.

To start you check this list - Top 100 AdSense alternatives, and see what other networks out there and what they offer.
If you look for something more advanced I can help with ADX access & server setup as long as the site content is good and stats can be validated.

Adsense literally pays much lower. Use an alternative ad network.
