Mods in the BST section approving more junk

easy adopt my approach, dont sell to the following

1 - new members
2 - old accounts with 2 posts
3 - old accounts sat dormant for years going on a buy spree.

in 6 yrs ive done 3 refunds, and they where people i removed from the product

most sellers im sorry to say , if they get 50 orders the fill them and hope for the best
me ,i check all my buyers, there join date . post history. age of there account, activity.
thats because i check, most sellers follow the smell of money and dont do checks well
thats your fault

I have to say this should work both ways. I have only purchased a couple of services from BHW but I have been buying and selling online for years.

I have never bought from an ebay seller without checking their feedback.
I have never bought from an amazon seller without checking their feedback.
I have never bought from a website I have never heard of without doing the usual Google searches.

Same thing applies here, if you are going to buy a service but you are too lazy to check the sellers reputation, feedback and post history then quite frankly you deserve all you get, not that I condone scamming but it it takes 5 minutes to protect your investment.

Let me share my experience with the MODS here while dealing with my BSTs.

Frankly speaking, even I was of the impression that the mods won;t even look at the thread but that impression completely changed with my recent experience. When I applied for the BST, after a few days of application my BST was rejected. This has never happened to me, but when I opened the message I realized that Mr. Apricot had rejected my thread because there were discrepancies in what the title promised and what the thread actually said and he asked to change it and report again. It was an honest mistake from my side but the MOD spotted it and had me change it. It made me happy that the MODs they are indeed making sure that we can;t just put BS there. It has always been like that with me be it with BigBuddy, I KNow SEO or whoever it is.

Let's face it there are what, 400k members here? That's almost a country. And i believe the MODs are doing a pretty good job managing that and the marketplace. Like other members like BTB and others have pointed out, I think raising the fee is definitely an obstacle to service providers. Make it a monthly fee if you have to so that we have people who are seriously running the show.

But while you do that, think about the sellers and please consider disabling signatures in the Market Place. That will automatically clear out a lot of mess from the sales thread. Even I have commented on BSTs with my signature on, but only if I am genuinely interested in buying the service. But I think disabling them in the marketplace will be a great boon to all of us.

While being a seller here, I am also a buyer here. And if I don't find good services here( which I myself am not providing ) I won;t be here. I might move to another place or forum to find those services which deliver what they promise. And if there are no buyers there will be no sellers. This is not good for BHW on a long term, which is why we have to emphasize on making the Marketplace as clean as possible.

Ultimately, BHW and its staff can only facilitate all these requirements. We as buyers and sellers have to make sure that marketplace stays clean and make it one of the best marketplace.

Let's not make up market place rules, let's make up a marketplace culture.

I really hope some of the amazing suggestions in this thread is taken into consideration.

Peace.

Here and few suggestions from me:

  • If you run a BST thread and you are not Jr. VIP at this moment, close the sales thread after xx days (some type of gratis period: OP is on vacation, in hospital, etc. I see a lot active sales thread here, but OP are normal members. They don`t renew their own Jr. Vip membership)

This should actually be implemented right off... part of the cost of a BST is JR Vip membership. Not requiring that one keep up their JR Vip membership to maintain their BST yet requiring a new BST starter to be current in their membership is a discrepancy in the system that is unreasonable.

Agreed. That would weed out certain BSTs that are duplicates of others and/or users who only had intentions of scamming buyers. It might also guide the members who came here to do so, to read the methods here, and make an honest living along with their BST.

Guys, I buy most of the stuffs which are sold here as I am a reseller, most of the time me and my customers are satisfied and few times not.
The thing is that the services provided here is not necessarily will work for everyone. There is nothing MOD could do about it.

Secondly, I think there should be a way so that only the real customers/buyers could leave reviews in the threads. Many times it is manipulated and the OP's ask non buyers who are friends of their to leave positive reviews in their thread to boost sales. Believe or not but it happens.

All and all, honestly I am a member in many forums yet I will have to admit that no forum could offer anything compared to what is offered in BHW. I have also moderated few forums and I must say no one has any idea how moderator works to keep a forum clean and maintain its quality. Sometimes they even forget their real life maintaining the forum without expecting anything in return.. So have respect for it :)
BHW rocks anyway :)

Just my two cents worth... I DON'T think upping the fee is a good idea. I know not everyone here is from a 1st world country - many are from SE Asia and upping the fee would make it impossible for some of them to get started here. Given that those providers sometimes provide the best value for money work on here, I don't think that is a good idea.

However, I DO think there should be some pretty heavy scrutiny. Members should be ones who have CONTRIBUTED. Go through their started threads. Do they post good information. Do they know what they're talking about, do they respond to questions. If so they already have something invested in here before they start a BST. If not, then they are just here to make a quick buck. Which one is likely to make BHW a better place?

how about trusted seller section ?

so each people deliver best to reach on that section.

What about a new section where members can report such threads, same way as shitlist section, where all members try to prove if service is legit or not (W130SN training camp). It will be better than to reporting it to MODs, since they are already in shitload of work. Though ultimately it will be the MODs laying out the final decision. But this is best, since the investigation would be done by the normal members, and MODs will have a lead in the case.

Main benefits -
1. Bullshit BST won't survive even for a day.
2. Legit service get free promotion, and increase in sales, so the original poster won't find it offensive.
3. All those people who are too excited too break "Shitlist Rule #4" will get to show their detective skills.

After all this, a service can never be safe, though a lot of craps will bet scraped off the forum.

Just submitted a BST thread...may not get approved cause what it's offering, but hopefully the staff knows I'm legit by now and that I wouldn't offer junk, etc...

Hmmm, anything for a buck eh?

This looks like a coaching/mentoring BST, I didn't think that was allowed.
Or are you auditioning for The Exploiter 2: The Next Generation?

At least now I understand what all your threads and self promotion were about,
Nothing like a little pre-selling to get interest in a sales thread.

Honestly, I think the blame falls primarily on the shoulders of the buyer. If you take just a few minutes to do some insight into the seller themselves (see if they make useful forum posts/have good reputation), as well as read the most recent pages of the thread, there should be more than enough information to come up with a decision. By reading a couple of recent reviews, you get a pretty good idea of the service you'll receive. If there are no recent reviews, you can either take a risk (and be willing to take a loss if it sucks), or you can look for another service. Since there are so many service threads as stated numerous times throughout this thread, you shouldn't have any trouble finding at least one that works.

You can't expect the mods to write out a detailed review of the service just so you don't have to research and figure out which ones are going to work. Even if they did write a detailed review, it still wouldn't mean a whole lot, since the seller can change whatever they are doing behind the scenes at any given time.

My Suggestion:
Add some sort of rating system for the threads, but make it reflect only recent ratings. Not sure which way would work best, maybe average rating in the past 30 days, or average rating from the past 10 orders. This would prevent services from being good at first, and then going bad once they have a handful of good reviews. With a rating that is constantly updating, and can drastically shift with a few bad reviews, it would ensure the seller never half-asses it. It may also invoke a bit of competition between sellers who are trying to get the highest rating, and thus improve quality across the board.

The problems I see with this is the system being abused by fake buyers, so maybe only Jr. VIP+ could actually rate the service. Obviously it's not a perfect idea, or probably even the best idea, but like I said -- I don't think much change needs to be made in the approval/selling process, but rather in the buying and research process.

Why not add a feature where mods attach a star or some kind of stamp to services where they feel they got fantastic results.

Pretty much all sales pitches say the same thing and promise they're the best thing ever. Pretty much all guys with a free review copy say the service is spectacular. Pretty much everyone says they got great resulta or don't post at all (maybe scared if they write anything bad their site will be nuked?)

It's easy to waste money on BSTs and borderline impossible to pick out which services are the best. We're all suffering from choice overload here with every Jr. VIP and his mom offering SEO with promising pitches.

We need some quality gauge free of the review-copy bias. Something that lets us know we are paying good money for something that will actually bring great results.

it's useless, totally... how about if seller delivered good service when for reviewers; to mods, or any vip member, but not for general buyer, then you want to blame us.

i would recommend to add 3rd party payment option from blackhatword itself, that will be good.

I got some friends on here that would not lie on a review copy and their my friends.
