Mods in the BST section approving more junk

well the "avoid being scammed" thread only has 27,000 views. What do you expect? But i agree with the frustrations. I mean if i spend $200 on some service and get crappy results i am like move on, happened once. But if i spend it multiple times on different services then the marketplace is not safe.

I kinda agree with transaction id rule myself - the more repeat buyers you see the better their service is. Kinda like tommy or sarkar.

But this is how easy it is to setup sales threads :

1) I buy a blog comment list from somewhere and then putup a thread here to sell blog comments (10K, 20K) etc,
2) I buy some domains - host them on different server - sell posts for few bucks
3) Run senuke, MS, UD, GSA and provide service from it

All these services done with better marketing can generate solid monthly revenue <- that rightt here is a problem as most of the sellers think about revenue and not their client's site.

As to how to stop it ?

Problems :

1) I know all senior providers here and no one wants to kick a service provider in their guts - It's always a human feeling. So what should be "this service sucks balls" becomes "this service provided me with reports. The ranks are yet to show" - they never show :)

2) People don't want to write bad stuff on anybody's thread

3) People are people :D

Solution - Let customers complaint to mods about a service and too many complaints - stop the service.

Like if i buy 10 services, i complaint about 2 which are just stupid blog networks labeled as "zabumga blogs - ranks you for weight loss pills" etc. i tell the mods that service is pathetic and he keeps a count. 10 or so and service is locked. Let him think and re-launch but if it happens again just remove it.

now i don't have to kick him and rub it in his face too. I just tell mods it's stupid and he closes it. Win for everyone. Feel free to modify this ignore this if mods get too much work :)

This thread has expanded quite a bit and I'm glad it created some conversation because some really good ideas were provided here. There is a general consensus that BHW has a great system in place, nobody can dispute that, but the quality of services being approved has just lessened. Like others have 500said, making the BST fee higher and nonrefundable will help dissuade some people who want to use their GSA to provide a crappy job for $100. And if the profit margin goes down for people providing services like views, retweets, etc. then maybe let their fees remain at $40 but the SEO definitely needs a bump. Still think the 100 post count lets a newbie to the forum start providing a service who has relatively no history on BHW. 500 minimum, maybe even more.

I can't believe how much the homepage is litter with lots of low quality bst, i have to dig round to find proper topic to read. Unbelievable

Great thread, guys!

I am going to point my fellow staff members to this thread.
It may take a while to sort through the posts, but I believe
there are some useful suggestions here.

Keep 'em coming! . . . :)

"Wiz"

I like the idea of a rating system similar to ebay, and have one tiny addition to it: buyers should get a friendly reminder after enough time has passed to give an honest rating/review, and the reason behind that is if people don't have to complain, the incentive to post a review is close to zero.
This rating system should keep sellers from ignoring buyer complaints.

Just my 2 cents.

All well wishers must be kept away from the BST and make it a client/seller interaction than friends to friends like fb :D

This is a good point and im surprised its allowed to be honest as it just adds to the noise.

Here and few suggestions from me:

  • Do not put special characters in titles;
  • No more Penguin or Panda safe links;
  • If you run a BST thread and you are not Jr. VIP at this moment, close the sales thread after xx days (some type of gratis period: OP is on vacation, in hospital, etc. I see a lot active sales thread here, but OP are normal members. They don`t renew their own Jr. Vip membership) ;
  • Don`t ask buyers to post transaction number ( Someone mention this above. Many buyers want to stay anonymous);
  • Don`t use big shrift or color for the replies on your sales thread;
  • Closing inactive thread after 6 months (from the last reply) for example;
  • Recommended sizes and format for sales copy images;
  • Grammar Check, Spell Check & Proofreading for the sales copy content (Most of the MOD`s are Native speakers).

I have a few suggestions

- Increase the amount of time required as a member to buy a marketplace thread.
- Charge more than $30 per year for a BST thread.
- Consider a cap of certain services allowed (Limit # of BST threads that include facebook likes to 10 and the rest are in queue - this idea can be tweaked a lot but it is a good base).
- A review period of 45 days after the thread has been approved.

Gotta love getting rid of competitors because you can afford something while others can't. Smells like corporate america. Think about some of the article writers here. They probably are not making enough to pay 100 a month just to have their thread open but their services are DAMN worth it. That is not to say that a price increase would overall probably increase the quality which I am all for. So that is just a small issue.

My main issue with BST approval is that I think the mods should take time to at least write more than a sentence. They got the biggest package offered (or at least that was the rule?), the very least they could do if they will approve it is give everyone some thoughts, ranking screenshots, ect. BHW has some full time staff, I think they can leave a little more feedback than "op approved".

If they cant make $100 profit from their BST then the service certainly is of low quality. But I agree that raising the fees in the SEO section will definitely increase the quality.

So we hear a lot of opinions about how to reduce seller fraud just like with any marketplace. How can we
reduce buyer fraud like I have experienced and I sure more people have? Let's not turn BHW into PayPal for
crying out loud.

As a business if we see a new member who just joined and looks fishy we do our due diligence. I am just
not a fan in idiot proofing everything. I hate to say it but some of the opinions you can tell are from people
who never balanced or ran a business in their life. Popcorn gallery is on full march.

easy adopt my approach, dont sell to the following

1 - new members
2 - old accounts with 2 posts
3 - old accounts sat dormant for years going on a buy spree.

in 6 yrs ive done 3 refunds, and they where people i removed from the product

most sellers im sorry to say , if they get 50 orders the fill them and hope for the best
me ,i check all my buyers, there join date . post history. age of there account, activity.
thats because i check, most sellers follow the smell of money and dont do checks well
thats your fault

Sorry Funkybunker but you're wrong on this one. Not being able to afford a particular
avenue of advertisement does not make someone any less of a business person nor
does it brand their talents of any less caliber. ;)

I'm talking about kids opening threads here for $3 services, $20 services and $50 services. You want to fucking skip the bullshit and get results?
Buy a real service that costs what the real world requires. People with less money attract people with less money, so people like me who make a living off my service have less places to fucking go. Pitying someone for not being able to fork out $100-$500 for a thread that will guarantee wealthy buyers is like expecting Louis Vuitton to make bags out of cardboard just so more people can afford it.

Its due to the nature of your service which allows for abuse so makes sense that you dont sell it to newbies. 70 percent of buyers in SEO/link building section are newbies who hardly have any post history, they dont even write in the thread or leave review. They spend their time making money rather than posting on forum.

Here are a couple of "fucking" things to consider...

People with less money attract people with less money, so people like me who make a living off my service have less places to fucking go.

Your available marketing outlets for a high end service is not any other persons problem. If you feel as if people
cannot afford your service because cheaper services attract the wrong crowd then you need to find other marketing platforms.

Pitying someone for not being able to fork out $100-$500 for a thread that will guarantee wealthy buyers is like expecting Louis Vuitton to make bags out of cardboard just so more people can afford it

How did you come to the conclusion that if the seller pays out tons more it guarantees wealthy buyers?

I'm talking about kids opening threads here for $3 services, $20 services and $50 services.

Ever walk into a coffee shop? Because some services in this industry are priced just right at those rates. I am glad
other business models do not work like this or small gigs would not even be available.

I can tell your thinking is coming from emotion and very little said was based from a logical business approach. People
get what they pay for and if someone pays $10 for some graphics then its going to look like $10. If they want to go
elite then they can pay for a good service. I don't see one issue with variety in the marketplace.

Oh by the way places like Luis Vuitton are selling the name....not necessarily the quality. ;)

PS: I never have an issue buying from the marketplace because I know some top-notch guys in their I call
friends who understand what operating a business is like. When you run a company you are not just selling
a product, you are actually selling yourself and peoples trust in you.

Additionally: One very important thing to consider is that BHW has a membership base to the scale of a
decent size city. You are going to have people of all income levels. Everything from millionaires to $10 start-ups
are on this forum. Now throw in the wild card that its an international community with tons of different local
currencies. How are you suppose to regulate that but so much? Again BHW is doing a really good job at it....

Those so called "cheap" services are a lot of cash to someone counting a currency with less value per note.

I must agree with Leith. Although I understand that low earners will struggle or be completely unable to launch BSTs anymore, that's what will make this place the luxury brand of market services. We can't pity lesser businessmen because they can't afford it, since an incredible service will be worth every penny to launch.

Countless problems get solved: Every user on BHW will know the available services will perform to the highest standard, and broke salesmen with incredible services will make back everything they spent to open up. There is a forum out there that charges a hefty monthly fee, and every single person there is banking.
Higher entry qualifications are a must if we want BHW to be worth our time. As a previous BST thread owner, I closed shop because this place draws very cheap customers. When $500+ quality services become the norm here, opening shop won't feel like I'm dealing with children.

We have talked on skype a few times in the past and you are a great guy, but common. Low earners struggling and putting people out of business doesn't let them get a start! Basically you want to shit all over the next steve jobs.... who knows.

I would just like to mention that you say that a broke salesman with an incredible service will make back everything they spend. If you are suggesting or even agreeing with some of these people on a monthly plan, you are incredibly wrong. Some of the BEST services on BHW are ones with 1 or just 2 pages of reviews and didn't get off the ground. I tend to message sellers privately because I like to keep these to myself.

Finally, if $500+ services are the norm, why does that matter? Those 200 dollar services you seem to hate turned my last 3 thousand dollars into 6 figures and I would not be where I am today without them.

Ps: I really like the guys idea about not marketing in your sales thread (haha) and just putting what you will do, and the price, no bullshit included.

Continue to whine about quality and how the old days required more from sellers that in return made BHW better.

Your solution is everything I laid out and a handful of others who agree the shit being sold here turns buyers off. Higher requirements for sellers helps everyone, and higher quality commands higher prices, which in return repels kids with only $5 in their pocket and instead draws buyers with serious capital. The "little guy" with a legit business but little cash can fork out his money knowing he'll earn it back since his prices can be higher and everyone shopping is used to spending $$$-$$$$ per service. You're all brainwashed into thinking price is the only thing you can compete on, hence this forum if not for it's rare nuggets of good info is purely for poor kids to sell to other poor kids. There's a reason all the popular BSTs are based on childlike themes.

Some top-notch services only require lower rates because there not very involved services. Even if you did want
to raise the fee then at least tell us in which category of the marketplace because there's tons of different services
for different sectors of the industry. :o

hence this forum if not for it's rare nuggets of good info is purely for poor kids to sell to other poor kids. There's a reason all the popular BSTs are based on childlike themes.

And I am sure they're loving your generalization...

I am out of this thread. It was great because like some Mods said here there's a lot of input from the
community to take note of. Thread has kind of ran its course in my opinion. Oh yeah and Funkybunker
it was nothing personal, but I fundamentally disagree. :)

Brought this up countless times already. The "Blabla Approved" sentences that are copy/pasted below the BST OP's are worthless besides the embarrassment it brings to this forum when regarding services are actually complete sh*t sometimes - yet are still 'reviewed as okay' by a mod.

Do not put special characters in titles;
disagree - this sets apart from other threads, without special chars, I would be confused to know which is which.

No more Penguin or Panda safe links; -
Disagree. I see where you are coming from, but why ban those words? I assume BHW is a free market

- Agree to an extent, some people sell their BST's, and theres no guarantee the new seller is good. but, I haven't had a bad experience from a non-JrVIP.

Don`t ask buyers to post transaction number ( Someone mention this above. Many buyers want to stay anonymous);
- Disagree. If, as a buyer I don't see anyone buying a service, I'm less likely to buy myself. If a buyer wants not to post trans ID, then I'm sure he will choose not to.

Don`t use big shrift or color for the replies on your sales thread;
- Disagree, Again, we're not in some communistic state, its called marketing our sales thread, making sure our potential clients can see what is important. When a buyer posts a review, it would be good for customers to see the review clearly, rather than buried in the thread.

Closing inactive thread after 6 months (from the last reply) for example;
- Agreed.

Recommended sizes and format for sales copy images;
- What?! No. BST providers are trying to sell in the best way they can. Each service is different, I agree some sales copy is BS, but BHW is a free market, let providers market their products

Grammar Check, Spell Check & Proofreading for the sales copy content (Most of the MOD`s are Native speakers).
- yes and no. A good seller will do this anyway. Really if sales copy is badly written it should be declined anyway. So by default I disagree.

A lot of your suggestions restrict the BHW market place, I assume BHW is a free market and making everything communistic and standardised will limit the ability of sellers and will destroy the vibrant market place. I doubt any of these suggestions will be implemented anyway, thank god.

PS. Also none of these suggestions (with exception to 6 month dormant BST's) will improve the quality of the services provided, infact it will just lower the quality of the good services and no one will be able to differentiate between good and shit services, because you want them to look all the same.
