Modifying Blogger layout

Is that possible? I want to take advantage of Blogger being free but I don't want the standard layout with all the standard placed assets, I want to edit the website as I see fit, while still keep the look of a blog. Is that possible? Or should I be looking for Wordpress instead? Thank you.

Goog it, detailed info on how to modify.

You go to layout. Then edit. Then html, then modify. Also you can find all kinds of skins for blogger. Good luck
 
You can find themes online for blogger.
Some look pretty good.

Plus you can always customize those themes, if you know a little css and html.
 
Thanks for the useful info. Also one more question, can I get adds and revenue using blogger? Does the domain has a policy towards this?
 
You can add ads. Read their terms of service.
You can integrate even with adsense. Blogspot is part of the google family. ;)
 
There are so many websites where you can get free blogger themes and even templates that you can easily modify, even with basic HTML knowledge. Wordpress is better, however, IMHO, because it's more flexible compared to Blogger and there are so many plugins that you can use to improve your website's features.
 
There's a html editor present in the settings, you can modify the blog pretty much as you see fit to the extent, when it won't even look like a blogger blog anymore. You can add/remove widgets and there are certain tricks to remove otherwise non-removable parts of the blog such as the navbar (so people can't report the blog that easily).
 
Just like what I've mentioned, Blogger is totally modifiable when it comes to website designs. However, it can be a bit more limited compared to Wordpress, because Wordpress has plug-ins. Consider WP :)
 
If I understand your question, you already know how to edit Blogger themes, but don't want the standard normal looking blogger themes, right?
Well, you can do it. There is no reservation to editing blogger themes.
 
Yeah, I got to understand I just needed a bit of html coding knowledge, in the end it was just as I thought it would be.
 
You can edit your HTML and CSS code to customise your blog layout. MAKE you know HTML and CSS.
