If you put target="_blank" in the code, could this affect tracking?
so no answers? ok
Well thats a great way to get some help. Do you think everyone is just waiting around to answer your questions for you?
If you go to google and type in this phrase:
will target=_blank affect affiliate tracking?the number 4 listing is this site
read that page and you'll learn how to set up a redirect page on your domain so that you can use a more friendly url AND how to set up your links using target="_blank" so you can keep the visitor on your page even after they click your affiliate link. Do it the way described on that page and it won't screw up your tracking.
It took me longer to write this reply, than it did to find an answer for you using google.
If you're going to wait 24 hours for someone to give you an answer that can be found in less than 24 seconds, I'm not really sure you should be calling other people dipshit on here.
You are very kind, I wont give him any answer if I were you! lol!
LOL, I just happened to be in a helpful mood.
Get laid for the second time? =p
Well im just pissed at everyone here cus of that article writing issue i had, 6 people tried to lie and pass me some google-copy-paste crap and charge me for that, 3 of these six people lied they were native english speakers (2 of these three people were actually from India, but i guess they thought its pretty usual for people from India to be native english speaker), 3 people just dissapeared after they promised to write me, no contact ever again from these people .. like what the hell,
but ye sure, this Here was my dumbest posting ever
my apologies to the good people of bhw community
this answer on that page doesnt fully satisfy me,
but if u say that it doesnt affect, then ok
LOL, Well don't just blindly take my word for it. I really don't know anything about it myself.
Do a little more research yourself if you want to really be sure.
If you read all the way through the page, it tells you first how to make a redirect page so you can start using a more friendly url, on your own page as well as any backlinking you do. Further on the page it suggests using target="_blank" to open the page in a new window.
Here's why I think that's a good way of doing it. When you open the new window, it isn't being opened for your affiliate link, its being opened for your page with the redirect on it. Once the redirect takes effect, the window is already open, and the referal page that the affiliate is seeing will still be a page on your site. I don't think it would hurt to open a new window anyway, even if just using the affiliate link as is, but I like this way better.
All your traffic stats should work fine. In fact, as mentioned on that link, if you create several different redirect pages, then you can even create additional tracking information for yourself.
Nothing will change. That code will open your affiliate link in a new page. That's it. The advantage of using that code is that it will decrease the bounce rate, because the visitor will still be on your site as well.
As for your answer. If you keep acting like this, then you won't have a long future on BHW and people will neg rep the shit out of you. As far as i see, they already did. You can't expect people to race with each other to answer your questions.
Getting ripped off has nothing to do with this post and it's none of our problem. There's a shit list in this forum so if you have to complain, go there. You should always act with caution when trading with people. There's a reason why we have rep, itrader, post count and thanks. Use your common sense.
