Just read that excellent article about keyword research nowadays.
It is long but really good written and it gave me couple new ideas to add to keyword researching routine.

That wasn't new. The only new thing is GKT to GKP.

Yes, the whole keyword research is not new, in this article they just discuss couple new twists after hummingbird release as well as workaround of that ssl protection of keywords that google implemented.
Some people find more some less useful in this article.

I'll go with what most of you wrote there but it strikes me as not really news or even remotely new. More just a handy collaboration I guess.

I agree with iliam72 that this is not a very new keyword research routine, I have already been following this keyword research strategy for last 2 years.
The only new thing, i am doing after recent update is targeting trending keywords through articles.
I am using a tool www . kwalert . net to find real time trending keywords information related to my niche. then i use the low competitive keywords to target through my articles.
It works!
