Hello. I've been trying to figure out this niche for 2 years and still don't understand the basic principles. Hopefully somebody wise drops their input here. Let's start with listing some sample channels. There are many, but some are exceptionally well developed - having hundreds of thousands or millions of subscribers, other having less success, but still earning tons (look at their view counts).

There are many more - literally thousands of channels with extremely high subscriber count, extremely bad quality content (low effort, uninspiring, no comment gameplay, they go for numbers instead of quality), extremely similar to each other. I believe most of those channels belong to some BHW members, who have been botting them for many years now. My questions, and realizations:

1. There is no chance of such content getting such numbers. I've tried with several channels and the videos barely get any views. Can anybody explain the phenomenon? I believe it has nothing to do with algorithm.
2. How come those channels don't face demonetization? No commentary gaming is against YT guidelines - I've had some channels like this demonetized for reused content. Also the channels are simply spam ;)
3. The channels must be hard botted, because nobody would pump such numbers with expensive SMM services (apart from their owners).
4. This niche is purely black hat: only botted views, fake subscribers. Prove me wrong.

Bad quality content can never give millions of subscribers. They have got this only because they cracked something which you cannot.

Most of those channels you sent are dead. There is no big niche for mobile gaming.
All of those channels are big because a few of their older videos some how managed to make it into the algorithm, you will noticed most of those channels
haven't had a video with decent views in years.

It's hard to say whether those channels are botted, at least some of them. The subscribers match the views on their older viral videos.
I find it strange that if they were botted, that they all botted a few years ago and then stopped. Its more likely those weird mobile games from a few years ago
hit higher in the algorithm. But a few of them definitely look botted.

What channel do you consider dead? One getting tens of thousands of views daily? Some channels I listed get hundreds of thousands views.

Might have been valid in the past, but now they just get tons of views simply for being a big, authority channels, which is a game changer. They get monetized views for 0 effort and just game the youtube game ;)

It's obvious - such content is getting no views in legit scenario. Not consistently. Must be some algo hack - they must be getting extremely high impressions just by being big channels.

I find it strange that if they were botted, that they all botted a few years ago and then stopped

In the past it was much, much easier to get any numbers with such kind of content. Algo evolved. It favors new content for channels with tons of videos.

There is a need of constant upload for these type of channels to remain alive. You have to be updated with latest games and it is very time consuming.

I dont know about you or those channels but if you started a gaming channel prior or during covid lock down, you would have also had a surge in numbers.

I have a gaming channel which I started in 2019, it wasn't doing great back then, almost no one even watches my videos but when pandemic hit and everyone was on lockdown, some of my videos exploded like crazy even tho their quality was only mid tier some arent even 1080p lol. my channel went from 3k subs to 150k in just about a year.

but now that the pandemic is over, views are dropping. im guessing some of those channels you're talking about also experienced the same.

Gawd this topic is stupid. You been studying those channels for 2 years and yet the only conclusion you've come to is "they're botting"? dude look at those channels, they have a few videos that have exploded like crazy in the past and had millions of views. that gave their channel lots of subs and authority, thus, higher audience reach compared to your channel that doesnt have views.

I would consider channels with hundreds of thousands of subs if not millions and getting a few thousand views per video dead. A YouTuber with 1m+ subs and getting 10k views a video has a dead channel.
It's funny how for some of your answers, you are just using the answers from my response lol.

It's great this individual came to this site, they have Reddit, they have Google forums, they have ltt forums, they have whirlpool forums plenty of forums on the internet for this question.

Yet they come here, well good news buy some subscribers from this site, tell us how it went, I love your passion to jump into the unknown.

Just because you saw someone juggling, and you bought the tools, it doesn't make you a success as him/her, it takes a lot of trials & errors, and what they discover along the way, they don't share it on $40 books, I know one of the channels listed above was the reason a simple stupid 2D game turned into a phenomenon, it's real.

The absent of quality, commenting, is mainly due to the nature of the games, they're mostly 2D simple games.

Yeah is weird, how low content generated tons of views, could be lucky or is just the way that they do it that is interesting, maybe they do something challenging to get the attention and that is what people likes, see how can accomplish something difficult.

All those videos are targeted at children, you do realise there's more child on earth then the elderly watching YouTube.

What's more crazy about those channels is some have over 11000 videos uploaded, that's more than my entire posts on all forums.

I think the topic is good in fact. Everybody talks about quality, great thumbnails, and titles, yet these videos lack any of those elements and still get more views than many quality videos from quality channels. As if nobody wants to talk about this phenomenon, but it's real.

Also it's not like there is one or two lucky channels doing this - there are hundreds. Seems like the niche is very receptive - but again the principles of mobile gaming are totally in opposition to what is being said about YT videos in general. Quantity over quality.

All those videos are targeted at children

Kind of genius to target videos at children without having to set the videos as targeted at children. Not against YT guidelines, but milking the full amount for ads.

mobile gaming niche is waaayyyyy too saturated. You cant just mimic what other established channels do and expect the same result and accuse them of botting just because they are reaching wider audience and you're not at all lol.

Oh and those channels are dead. thier views to sub ratio is awfully low.

If they made better thumbnail they would have gotten much more views because their channel has more authority and can reach a lot of people
