Can somebody give me a ballpark figure on how much it would cost to hire a north american developer to make a mobile app version of my wordpress site for Android and/or iPhone?

I'm getting a lot of mixed information and I don't want to open up jobs on any sites without knowing what kind of price I'm looking at...

Go to marketplace sites like Guru, Elance, Hireafreelancer / freelancer, or check Google to see at what price they are willing, or are getting hired to do a similar job. You'll get their prices instantly and specifically for the job you want to get created. You can also check their portfolios and can judge their skills and efficiency.

Why don't you just make your site responsive so that every phone/tablet/desktop can watch it without any problems.
Also wordpress admin is now responsive as well. So if your theme is responsive basically your whole site
including the backend is responsive and should be viewable on mobile phones.

That's really easy to do and cheap in this part of South London.
Couldn't tell you how much a North American would charge though.

My site is already responsive, but that's not the main point here. The advantage of providing an app for users, as opposed to the website itself, is that many people these days prefer the readiness of apps instead of browsing on their cell phone. From my point of view the advantage is that now I have my service installed on their phone which is much more likely to cause return visits/uses with that person.

I imagine the prices between London and North America wouldn't differ by all that much. Thanks brother it's good to know this isn't a really expensive job.
