Me and my friend want to start a business, however small, because we realized ideas lead you nowhere without action, and the best way to learn is by actually doing it. I occasionally look through this forum for new ways of making money, and naturally, I picked up one or two things about how to monetize a website/social media sort of thing.
We are both fans of MMA, we both train or used to train, so we actually know something about the sport and the international community. We realized that there isn't a well-defined community in Romania, and since MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, we saw it as a window.
The plan isn't so well-defined, and we are bouncing ideas back and forth, but we don't actually know what would be the best way of getting the most profits, because that's the end result after all. Right now, we were thinking of building an audience first, creating a facebook and an instagram and building a following on those platforms. We were thinking of not selling anything for 1-2 months, in order to build trust. During this time, we would be working on our website, which will be a news-blog-sort-of-website, with a store. The store will be selling MMA equipment, outsourced from an online store, from which we will be getting a percentage of every sale. It would also include t-shirts, cups, and that sort of stuff with quotes from fighters, cool designs, famous MMA scenes/fighters, etc.
We know nothing about facebook and instagram advertising- planning to learn all of that on this forum.
We know nothing about site building- planning to learn that on this forum.
The point of this post is to ask more experienced people - you -, if you have any ideas for my plan, or any advice you could give me, or any post on this forum you could send me to. Again, we are completely new to internet marketing, and any advice that you might think is obvious, could be gold for us. Also, if you think it's a good idea, you have some expertise in what we are trying to accomplish, and you want to work with us on it, you are more than welcome (of course, with a share of the profits).
