I think my site has mixed content issues, as it rans on http and https the same content. Should I fix it? Affect SEO rankings?

Big G does give preference to sites served over HTTPS rather than HTTP due to the security risk thought to be posed by non HTTPS sites. Changing things around to make you site fully HTTPS compliant without mixed content (hence the use of redirects) can have an affect on the short term in some circumstances but then your site should settle back down and, if anything, be better for it due to being more secure.

You should fix it, when we add google analytics if both the URLs are not getting to the same page it will consider it as two different pages/sites and you will never have a proper idea on those analytics.
