I promise to write shorter in the future 
First off, thanks for the amazing forum. I've been off of forums for the past few years, but now that I'm into the online race I'll be regularly here.
Few words why here. Frustration mainly... Basically I'm a creative person with some BIG ideas that turned out pretty small when launched. What I did is I created site A (complicated platform - user registration, badges, following, article writing, statuses, multi lingual, comments, voting, notifications onsite/email, pretty much a full blown social network, beautiful branding, amazing domain names, cloud etc) I've spend a year/two building it. Then there is site B that i did for less than a month and is super simple (registration, email notifications, profiles, votes, comments, some other features). I like them both, yet I've hit the concrete wall big time coz I don't have content. I don't know anything about online marketing and I don't know how to make these bad boys "famous". Some people are visiting the websites but registrations and contribution is pathetic. I'm about to change that as the effort has been insane on my part I also want to share my tripping with someone that is on the same wave. Second - I read the topics, you guys seem super friendly and BHW seems like a great place to spend my time learning and sharing. There are some killer topics of success gone bad and then back to the top which are inspiring.
On top of that I've blown my money on these two projects, moved to Canada (where I'm unemployed for quite some time coz I've been busy on site A). So now that the projects are completed I?m going beast mode.
Briefly:
Site A - social network where people write articles, related to traveling. May include headline news that are interesting.
Site B - for fans of music, musicians, bands etc
Target: $2K in earning by 1 June (I need to buy myself a ticket to Europe to see the old folks)
Mission: Everyday to share my progress so that people can read about my experience from 0 to hero. I don't know anyone else to motivate me in this, so I?m hoping to find great people that will keep me motivated (sadly facebook friends suck and left me with no support what so ever on this).
Starting situation:
Site A ? Launched Jan
Jan data (a bit screwed up my analytics in the beginning so its from jan 22 onwards)
Pretty much I wrote an article that went viral (far from gangnam style viral)
UVisitors ? 1385
Pageviews ? 3337
Visits - 1800
Feb (no killer article)
UVisitors ? 430
Pageviews ? 2300
Visits ? 715
Site B ? Launched, and data, March
UVisitors ? 35
Pageviews ? 800
Visits ? 73
Ticket to Europe ? 0.15%
My plan goes like this -
(week 1)
A: Everyday write an article about something important that has happened and post on site A, then share the link of facebook profile (4-500 friends) Share on fan page (50ppl) and share on other people's walls. Share on twitter (~400followers) and on site A twitter (~10), share on reddit. See what happens.
B: Everyday 5 updates of the music website which would be shared with FB friends, fan page (15-20ppl) and my twitter (~400pps), I'll also post to the fan page content from other networks and post the new stuff on the site B's fan page. Will post links to other fan pages related to music, and on status updates by friends/musicians that I've liked.
Suggestions? Wish me luck! See you tmrw.
