Minimum risk selling items

I've came up with some capitol ($1000) to order some goods to sell on ebay, but I don't know which goods should I get into that doesn't involve a great risk, but I do want a fast return. I'm currently buying broken phones, fixing and unlocking them, then sell for profit but the return is slow. I'm looking for something where I can start earning at least $2,000 a month. My job has cut back on my days and I need to really get a side job going. Thanks any help will be appreciated.

Do you mind doing your own shipping or are you looking strictly for a drop shipper ?
