Is it true that its got to be 500 words now and not 400? Thats if you want G to take notice of it?

why is everybody on BHW always talking about minimum, if you strive for minimal stuff, your results are going to be the same
 
All the different services ask for different length and one of the Best BMR asks only for 150 so I guess its variable and not set and also its about unique quality content not KW stuffed and a couple of LT KWs always good i think.
 
What is more valuable... having an article address an issue with a solution using only 300 words, or an article with fluff that has 700 words?

I don't believe a lot of the hype and myths around panda... a lot of internet marketers are paranoid and every new update is doomsday, because they aren't ranking on the first page.
 
i don't buy it that your article should be more than 500 words. I only write three hundred words article and my site is all over first pages of google for my main keyword.. so it is about uniqueness and value to the readers I believe..:)
 
If there was a minimum length, well, Most of the big eCommerce sites that G is pushing would be dead..

I have content ranking that is 200 words etc...

But, generally most of my stuff is 400+ words, but a couple of occasional 200's or a picture with 100 words still works lol, and I assume will always work.
 
I red it as well in some "Post Panda" SEO ebooks. But I thing it is all just speculation.
 
On a related note. The longer your content is, the more LSI and long tails you can throw in your content :p which definitely = more traffic.. But you want to talk about that crap, head over to the WH section loool..
 
Easy tiger, he just asked a question. I think as long as you post quality you have nothing to worry about regardless of how many words.

Yea, people always get crazy with their keywords on their pages. It's like they forgot SEO 101 basics and then are oh so surprised when they can't rank it :rolleyes:

@mootonandy -- longer, better written articles are going to weigh out in the end, don't be lazy. And yes it's true that Panda is trying to rank these types of articles higher. Read the G00gle blog.
 
I think that the uniqueness is the main problem infront of panda. And length of topic would be around 400 and 600 words will be good.
 
m still with word count of 400, content purity matters the most along side...
 
I know this many is not needed, but I have a lot of success with articles in the 700-750 word range
 
I am now shooting for 1500 words of unique content and I am filling whole pages of Google Search Results with these length of articles for various long tail key words all post Panda.

All my content is unique and none of it is spun.
