Hi Guys!

I'm trying to optimize my site speed as much as possible. Right now I can still shave off some MS here and there, BUT I always see 'Minimize Main Thread Work' at 4s+ for possible saving in Lighthouse.

My question: I'm on the basic shared hosting on namecheap (Stellar), if I upgrade my hosting, will this improve? My first CPU idle is usually marked as (!) too, and I am thinking this will improve, as Stellar Plus has 20% CPU available instead of 10%. Will VPS or Dedicated Server massively improve this issue? Or I am better finding the root cause for the workload?

I'm on cheap shared since I get low traffic (=no money), I am looking to upgrade in the future. However, with G's new update about site speed being a ranking factor, I'm not sure if I just bite the bullet and upgrade to something better.

it's generatepress + elementor

That's mainly due to the hosting and you'll get much better results for sure,
you don't really have to worry about the cost at such part,
you can get get a VPS for $4-6 a month and see much better improvements,

take a look at @DamoHG service,
I've used a VPS with it before and it's pretty fast

you can install aapanel (or any alternative) to make the installation and managing work much easier,
go for Openlitespeed and configure it properly, install FlyingPress or WP Rocket and configure them,
along with some pictures optimisations, you must get some cool results

Yea I've done these + I refer CSS, JS + prefetch everything I can. Looks like I've done most on WP side (I can get CDN still, but it would only shave off marginal ms). You confirm, that if I want better speed I am looking at better server as the best option.

most of the VPS providers comes with a money-back guarantee,
Hostgnome have a 7-day money-back guarantee as well,
so you can try out and find yourself, migration shouldn't take that long for a small website

Thanks for all the recommendations, I'll look around and think about it. In all it's fairness, I'm tempted to stay Namecheap and go for their vps. So far their support has been 100% exceptional and they'll migrate me free of charge to their VPS plan (although I'm sure other providers offer free migration too).
