Hello, I'm a software developer and currently studying about cybersec, I have a doubt, is it possible to make money with minecraft? I tried freelancing but it is actually really slow as there are no much projects out there, and the easiest way or at least the most knowledgeable is to work for a streamer which is hard as making contact over millions of people sometimes sounds kind of impossible, is there a way I can earn money with minecraft? like writing server plugins, mods, cheat clients, etc?? and if Not how could I make money by cheating in videogames?

You best bet for making money in the minecraft world is making short videos showing off mod packs and texture packs, then put the download link in the description and put it behind a linkiviverse type thing where they have to watch an ad to download the pack , this way you make a couple cents on every download

for extra money have the download link on your own blog and have ads on it

An old member that doesn't post here anymore I knew had one, and he had a loyal fan base, thanks to the world he created. I don't know much about mine craft, but whatever is done to bring in game currency to the server, and whatever other people are complaining they need on others is how he found a few methods first.

minecraft mods are popular

if you can create some kind of mod minecraft, like iron man skin, zombie mods related, items, etc

you can make money by sell access into your mods or creating content from it

It's good profit from making servers i have done it before in other games and also 1 time in minecraft if you have money to invest for advertising you can make really good money

any website you could recomend to offer freelancing services over minecraft development? fiverr and freelancer com are REALLY bad, full of scammers, and people who won't pay the jobs

I've seen people start faction servers from the ground up and make pretty good money off of that. Since factions is completely P2W for the most part, the ROI was quite high. Don't know much of anything else about MC though

Yes copy the big content creators and create short form content

There's quite a few ways to earn in Minecraft.
For example, you can make texture packs, skins, mods, adventure maps, creative maps, server hubs, spawns... all of which you can then share through monetized links. One such service for monetizing links is LootLabs. It's specially designed for gaming content creators; it even has Minecraft themes.

to be an steamer it takes many hours and you have to energitic with mass promotion sir .

Real money are in Launchers. Create one that is really good, add more and more features. Then you will be able to have a list of servers that pay you to be there. All kinds of ads, payed services, expansion to rust and other games. Now another question is, do you really wanna do that and have that be something people know you for?

If you distribute or use cheat clients, your Minecraft account may be banned

I monetized through linkvertise time ago using a random video and a random minecraft mod...

Imagine if you know what you are doing

You can use plugins that you develop to add new mechanics, management tools, or even unique experiences for your players.

How much investment do you rwally need, when starting out?

Minecraft dev work has potential plugins, custom mods, and even private cheats sell well in niche communities. You just need the right audience. Check out forums, Discords, or even Fiverr to get early traction. Demand is there if you position right.

Yes, Minecraft can be profitable—legitimately. You can earn by:

Developing custom plugins/mods for servers (many owners pay well).
Selling premium plugins on platforms like SpigotMC or MC-Market.
Creating and monetizing your own server via ranks, cosmetics, etc.
Offering freelance services like setup, optimization, or anti-cheat coding.

Avoid creating cheat clients—it violates terms and kills credibility long-term. Focus on skills that build trust and scale.

a lot of developers publish their mods on modrinth and planetminecraft. i don't know if it provides them with income, but it's still worth checking out. other options include providing tech support for servers, helping with setups, etc. creating your own server with your own mods could be an option too.
