Migration from Drupal to WP

Hi Guys,

We are looking at migrating our site from Drupal to Wordpress and bring the use from that in house.

I have developed a sub domain and installed wordpress and had begun developing the new site to transfer over.
But now our developer team is stating that we shouldnt do this and to do this could take 3-4 months.

Also I know that there are SEO complications with migrating the site, even though I am actually adding more text and it is staying on the same domain. Does anyone wanna help with this?

Can anyone advise?

Why would you want to do that?
I've used both for 6+years and would choose Drupal over Wordpress.

To be honest I struggle with using Drupal, but am quite experienced within wordpress. I would also like to use tools such as thrive on my website. Are there any alternatives to thrive for drupal?

I don't have experience with thrive. It seems a visual page builder, also paid tool. In Drupal using panels you can build a page with combination of any entities like page, post, block, views.

What is it you struggle with, Is thrive just a page layout builder?

You can do most of that just with the core blocks module, If you want something more advanced then use DS on node types and forms.

I used to use page builders but they took up too much unnecessary space and most of the time the markup was dreadful so ended up just hard coding new page templates.

What do you need to transfer to WP for?
