Migrate to https for a niche site : worthy ?

Actually I got a niche site ( a drop domain) with good positions but very often (maybe a coincidence? ) the TOP 1 is busy by https one. SO more and more was thinking about this idea, but am afraid to loose some link juice.


What do you think ?

It's always good to have https it'll be better in the long run. You won't lose much link juice by doing this if it's done properly

With Chrome and Firefox warning on non SSL sites, it's worth it to upgrade to SSL. There are some reputable certs that are free, just steer clear of any providers that Symantec used to own. They've been blacklisted.

Definitely worthwhile. Add it to your search console so that you have both the secure and non-secure sites linked.

Yes, upgrade. You may see loss of rankings temporarily for a short period of time, but it will come back as long as you do a proper 301-redirect.

Worth it & recommended.

It's recommended. But make sure that you FOLLOW all the standard process of HTTPs migration.

I have seen horror stories whereby the site completely tanked before the HTTPs migration was not done properly.

Go for an SSL. It will increase your trustworthiness in the eyes of Google.

Go for SSL , soon or late you will need it. The down point is the link juice you will loose so be sure to redirect http / www to https .
Your ranking may start dancing the few weeks but it will become stable. You can put 2 3 power links to the new https address.

Do it. But basically everyone in this thread said the same so, no dilemma there.
Google will potentially love you more and, your page might be in trouble with the old system.

Added it to all my blogs rankings where a little unstable for a while but settled down after a month or so . Also make sure you add SSL to your search console .
